Shaving legs

How on earth does anyone else manage to shave their legs? I'm 33 weeks and there's no way I can do it!

I used to sit on a chair and put my leg up on another chair in front of me, with knee bent to do each one - I use an epilator rather than shaving but was able to do mine up to knee level even at 39 weeks.

the problem I have now that DD has arrived is finding the time to do them!

mrsravelstein · 21/02/2011 11:23

my body hair virtually stopped growing when i was pregnant each time... so only had to shave them about once a week...but used to rest one foot on the toilet seat to do it (probably not very effectively!)

Scruffyhound · 21/02/2011 11:24

It is tricky but I managed it the other day. Think if you can sit and straighten out your leg then reach across its ok. I managed to shave my legs the last time until 37 weeks the last time but I did have a disslocated knee that was healing it was a pain in the butt!! My other half had to shave that one! could not get to it very well!!

Im having this exact problem at 34 weeks too :(
Im doing it by sitting on one side of the bath and resting my foot on the other side, can do an 'ok' job but have cut the back of my leg everytime!

Leilababyno1 · 21/02/2011 12:29

In the bath, seems to be the easiest- although not all too comfortable...one leg 'akimbo' resting up of the side of the bath tub seems to be the best way to negotiate the bump.

Although, as another poster said, my body hair seems to have temporarily stunted growth?!Confused

I've tried doing it the bath with one leg up on the side but can't even do that now!

Might have to give in and ask hubby to do it for me!

Or you could give in and leave it a couple more weeks if you can?

..and get down to your nearest beauty salon for a leg wax. That way no effort involved- think if it starts to get really difficult for me, I will be paying a nice beautician to do it for me!Grin

greenzebra · 21/02/2011 13:58

My hubbie has already said he will, but I am still managing at 28 weeks. Not for much longer. Hes got everything ready doesnt want me to go to the labour ward hairy! anywhere he says, so its up to him. lol

NeedToSleepZZZ · 21/02/2011 15:47

please don't hate me but i shaved my legs the day before i gave birth (3 weeks ago) and i could touch my toes!!! Grin

now however, hmm, have no inclination to do it..... so tired Confused

boredbuthappy · 21/02/2011 15:58

I stopped bothering at about 6 months. Then last week, at 36 weeks I went and had a leg and bikini wax...now I'm good till way after the birth!

happycamel · 21/02/2011 18:21

I lie in the bath and get my DH to do it. I'm 34 weeks tomorrow. I could do it myself, but baby kicks really hard if I bend over too much; I figure it doesn't like getting squashed.

bluebeach · 21/02/2011 23:39

No way I can do it (38 weeks) so just not bothering. One of the joys of a winter pregnancy!

gothmom · 27/02/2011 18:10

Husband of course. Why have a dog and bark yourself?

(Hee hee - glad he can't see this - he'd go mad)

CointreauVersial · 27/02/2011 18:11

Just wear thick tights or trousers for the next seven weeks.

thefurryone · 27/02/2011 18:48

My leg hair seems to have stopped growing quite as much and I recently realised I hadn't shaved mine for about 6 weeks Blush so had them waxed has saved loads of hassle.
