33 wks and effect of stress on baby?

Am 33 wks preg and was made redundant last week, am working notice. Am really down about it all.
Am tired and can't sleep and can't stop being so bloody miserable about redundancy. Was really stressful and whilst blood pressure etc fine (it was checked middle of last week) am really worried about impact of all the stress /weepiness on the baby.
I could stop work sooner (what are they going to do, after all?) but I don't want to leave on such a negative note in order to sit at home and obsess.

You are going to feel low, it is horrible being made redundant at the best of times so now it must be sooo stressful. All I can say is the baby is proberly fine, the more you stress that your stress is stressing the baby the more chance there is of stressing the baby.

Try not to think about it as the baby is proberly fine and you will only worry yourself for nothing.

Try thinking about the good things in your life, try putting your energy into your baby, even if it is baby shopping, making up a nursery.Try going out with friends you may not have seen for a while.

But you will have enough on your hands when baby is born try not to put too much pressure on yourself, things will be ok :)

Sorry to hear you lost your job. But I agree that baby will be fine. I lost my Dad very unexpectedly at 32 weeks with DS1. Obviously this was devastating and I was very weepy for weeks. DS was absolutely fine. In fact he helped me get through it as I had something positive to focus on.

Thankyou both. I agree that stressing about being stressed is uterly pointless!

I got made redundant at 28 weeks and my baby was fine! Do leave work soon as poss, it's never a nice atmosphere in the office once redundancy announced, and it will be lovely to have some free time before the baby arrives and takes over your life. They shouldn't make you work your notice, they should pay you for it AND you will get all your statutory maternity pay as a lump sum as you are over 27 weeks.
