I'm on the depo injection have been for 13 months, for a while now been slowly gaining weight, sometimes sore breasts, swollen stomach that's hard, tiredness, moods, acne and for a month or so been having feelings in my stomach lie a baby moving underneath my rib cage and down low. Told my mum today she had a feel and she moved something and it repeated down low. I took a test and negative. Have another to take. Is it possible it won't show up? Gonna boom a doctors appointment asap it's the movement that's bugging me. I look about 6 month gone...anyone had this?

There would be a good chance that a home test wouldn't work after about 12 weeks I think. I think you should go to see GP.

tummytickler · 19/02/2011 23:49

No advice I'm afraid. I think you should go to GP. Have you had a baby before? Does it feel the same?
Will you come back and let us know Grin ?
Could it just be some kind of reaction to the injection? I suppose the 'movement' is weird though.
My whole post has been zero help - sorry Blush Grin

I have a da who is nearly 5 and an 18 month old dd..it feels like just after u start getting proper kicks from around 20ish weeks. Have been googling and it says alot that people have been pregnant on the depo and all tests have shown as negative. I had the injection for 6 months before we started trying for dd. Went on it then as had two miscarriages and wanted to give my body a rest. Have suspected it for some time tbh but haven't bothered because I thought I was being stupid.

I think you ought to get in to see your gp tomorrow ideally. If you are indeed pg you need to be doing and not doing certain things (I know I'm teaching a granny to suck eggs but medical and employment stuff have time implications). Hopefully they'll be able to send you up to the antenatal unit for a scan immediately. Or even pick up a heartbeat on a doppler if you are somewhere from 16wks on.

Burying your head in the sand won't help.
How would you feel if you were?

franfoxy2003 · 20/02/2011 12:29

Well I'm hoping I'm not because my dd is a bit of a handful Atm as is my 5 year old, plus we have NOTHING as we gave it all away when we moved house in October. I'm
Gonna phone doctors asap tomorrow morning

Wow, what an unsettling situation for you to be in. It's not something I've ever heard of (and is giving me second thoughts about using depo injection after this pregnancy).

Will be thinking of you. I hope the time passes quickly between now and next Tuesday. Could you not ask for a scan or investigation with a doppler in the meantime?

buttonmoon78 · 21/02/2011 20:19

I'm quite surprised you weren't sent for a scan TBH. I hope you get some answers soon.

OADCB · 21/02/2011 20:21

Good Luck!

mousebacon · 21/02/2011 20:25

Hope it all goes well for you fran. Is there any chance you could book a private scan for quicker reassurance?

LibraPoppyGirl · 22/02/2011 00:09

Oh fran I really hope you find out soon. Sending you {{{{{hugs}}}}} however un-MN they supposedly are Smile x

tummytickler · 22/02/2011 08:17

Oh no! I would be tempted to ring your local labour ward (but then I am slightly hysterical like that Grin ), or book in for a private scan as mousebacon said.
I am really surprised that they are making you wait so long - second opinion with another GP?

Emoo · 23/02/2011 10:40

Hope you're okay - any news from your doctor appointment or bloods yet? Are you still feeling movements?

iskra · 27/02/2011 16:12

Any news? Are you having to wait until Tues (I wasn't sure)?

WinterLover · 01/03/2011 10:38
