Fish-free formula?

Hiya,

I know there is a recent thread on this in the "Am I being unreasonable section" but it just quickly (and angrily!) descended into formula VS. breast feeding. Heres all I really want to know....

I plan on breast feeding exclusively. But I don't ever want to be in the situation where my baby is screaming its head off, I'm totally stressed and for some reason breast feeding isn't happin'. So my plan was to have one bottle and small tin of formula as "just in case".

Problem is... I am very allergic to any/all seafood. It runs on both sides of my family. So, theres a good chance baby will have this too, although I appreciate not necessarily. I don't want the risk though of fish oils in his/her milk. But every flippin' one seems to have it in. I looked at the packet of tins in the shop today and Cow and Gate and Aptimil both said "contains milk, fish, soya" and SMA 1 said contains "Milk and soya". It didn't say fish but... only SMA 2 was the only one that said "suitable for vegetarians, powder only" which makes me suspicious its been snuck into SMA 1 somehow but just not clearly labeled. Hmm

ARGH!

Can anyone shine any light on this?

TIA

As far as I know, it is so refined and processed that it should not be an allergen.

DD is on a hypoallergenic formula and even this has it in. Maybe you could ask an expert if you are so worried?

Good luck with everything Smile
