I've been trying to make a list of bits I need to buy before baby arrives but I seem to have some kind of mental block going on!

So far I have:

Buggy
Car seat
Vests, sleepsuits, socks, hats and a blanket - enough baby clothes upto about 6months

ermmmm,

oh I have a crib.

I need to order matress,

What else do I need?!

Monitor
Changing mat
Supply of nappies & wipes, etc
Baby bath if you want one
Soft squishy playmat thingies are nice, but not essential.

In fact none of mine are really essential, but they are good to have...

Bum cream - the Weleda one is great & longlasting.

Bib's & muslims.

Oil for baby massage if you are going to do that (I got DP to do it & they both loved it & gave them that close contact)???? Grape seed oil very light & lovely for babies skin.

That's about it.

sling
cotton wool
sleeping bag

boredbuthappy · 18/02/2011 10:27

possibly a baby thermometer (the ear kind is supposed to be best and easiest), a changing bag, baby grooming stuff (baby nail clippers, hairbrush), a few soft plushy toys

Obviously none of these are essential (maybe the thermometer, to be safe), but would be good to have

FindingStuffToChuckOut · 18/02/2011 10:28

oh dear Grin

Grin at FindingStuffToChuckOut!

I thought you'd been here and done this before Totoros? Mind you, I'm just as bad. I stocked up on nursing bras just before ds was born as they were reduced in Mothercare (last season's colours dahhhling) and it was only when I tried to get him attached following birth that I realised they were all - without exception - rotten maternity bras rather than nursing! You'd think as he was #3 I'd have realised sooner... Blush

Bedding
Had to send dh on emergency trip to get some with ds as he was a sicky boy! :)
