So ... here is a silly thread...
I was just thinking about my forthcoming labour - the last one (my first) took ages, and hurt like hell - so I was thinking that I should make a play list to help get me through the next one (very much doubt I'll actually listen to it, but hey ho).

I always used to stuff my headphones in my ears and ramp up the volume when I went out running - it drowned out the sound of my own ragged breathing / impending melt down...

Any ideas? Here are a couple I just thought of:

Breathe don't stop - Mr. On Vs. Jungle Brothers

You can do it (put your ass in to it) - Ice Cube

Push It - Salt 'N'Pepa - too obvious?

(We did make a fun playlist on DH's iPod last time, but never used it!)

No labour puns to offer but having given birth to 'Accappella' by Kelis I can strongly recommend it - wicked video (all about giving birth to her son who she worships despite his dad being a dick) which makes me blub now. It's all crazy bleepy hands-in-the-air stuff which I found really got me in the right frame of mind (if there is such a thing as the right frame of mind in which to push a baby out of your fanjo Grin ).

Think some introspective stuff is good for transition - I lost myself in a bit of Bowie.

Good luck - second labours always seem to be better; mine was amazing and I am sure yours will be too.

I want to break free - queen
Ring of fire - johnny cash
Super massive black hole - muse

Im not making this up - honest - but these were playing during my labour with my DS whos now 3...when I was in theatre (emergency c section) getting my epidural sited the radio had Leona Lewis Bleeding Love, and they couldnt get it sited, took a few attempts, all I could focus on was her singing "keep bleeding" lol.

And before he was born it was Johhny Mathis "When a child is born" - totally cheesy but not surprising as it was just before Christmas lol.

Of course if I had my way I would have had "Alive and Kicking" by my fav group Simple Minds lol.

When I had dd I found PJ Harvey to be the best. Very empowering, and I had the satisfaction of knowing dh hates it, but has to listen to it for 5 hours solid!
Really good for pushing to.
I wish I was in the 90's and I could make a mix tape for the hospital. Maybe I will do it anyway.
