Apologies if TMI Blush

am 39 + 3 and being induced on monday if things don't happen before (long story - GD and big baby). WOuld prefer things to happen naturally in the mean time obv.

This week have been feeling increasingly unsettled. That's all I can explain it as - feeling odd and figety.

Today has been the worst. I was nesting big style this morning polishing the door knobs and then this afternoon came over all perculiar and tired and HAD to lie down and sleep - there was no fighting it. Have also been mega odd with food today.

So I just had a bath. Went to the loo before and all normal. At the end of the bath I went to wash my ladybits and it was really moist and mucasy down there Blush. Looked a bit like snot but couldn't see any blood or anything (it was all mixed with the soap so couldn't get a good look but could see no blood).

Does anyone think this is the start of things, or is it just that things are getting closer? Am naive first timer so any comments really welcome.

Its a show .....things are on the move Smile.

slowangels1 · 17/02/2011 18:54

a show can be like a week before though can't they?

Sounds like things could be on the move Smile

I am sort of feeling the same although only 36 weeks - due to be induced in 10 days - and like you would love things to get off to a natural start.

Fingers crossed eh?!

slowangels1 · 17/02/2011 18:59

yeah. Have to admit today is the first day where in myself I'd had a feeling like things might happen. Just haven't felt like I'm about to go into labour before this. eek - will be a keen knicker checker all evening to keep an eye on what might happen.

good luck to things happening soon for you nancy

Oh and I have heard that a show can occur a week before but in reality everyone I know who has had a show went into labour imminantly (including me x2)

I am off to have a bath see if that does anything!

ZeroMinusZero · 17/02/2011 19:38

Oooh, exciting angels And yes of course a show can be a week before your due date! Due dates are sooooo unreliable.

Sierra19 · 17/02/2011 22:57

Just a note about shows, my friend had a show but did not go into labour for 3 weeks so it does not always mean things are imminent.

slowangels1 · 18/02/2011 08:28

thanks all. well, still no labour! after the show incident I got period pain for a few hours and some odd braxton hicks which felt different to before. Was convinced this was the start of labour.....but seems to have calmed down now :(

i read in a yoga book that if one does a shoulder stand (using wall as support), provided one is in a good shape to do it, as much as possible, labour would come within 24 hours... don't know how you feel about this... i will certainly try

SarahScot · 18/02/2011 09:40

I had a show at 37 weeks last time and ended up beiong induced at 40 weeks, so it doesn't guarantee anything.

I'm 37 weeks noe and have also been getting a lot of snot-like mucus when I wipe, but like you OP, no blood and just in small amounts. In my ideal world I'd like a week off (just started mat leave yesterday) and then baby to come at 38 weeks. I can only hope teh baby has been listening to me. Smile

SarahScot · 18/02/2011 09:41

Oops, I meant induced at 42 weeks.

slowangels1 · 18/02/2011 09:50

lily I don't think I'm in any shape to try the shoulder stand thing sadly Confused

off for another walk for me I guess

slowangels how frustrating - nothing going on here either...

I am hoping that the situation that has provoked my AIBU rant might prompt things along Wink - feeling bloody stressed out!

Ideally a week on Monday would work for me! Wishful thinking Grin

slowangels1 · 18/02/2011 16:09

this weekend would be good for me nancy! Failing that, it's going to happen next week as i'll be induced, but, would rather things work on their own (and of course having her over the week end would mean more time off at home with DH and baby as his time off on pat leave includes when I'm in hospital).

NancyDrewHadaClue · 18/02/2011 16:14

I know how you feel - I am very glad I have the indiction to "look forward to" Confused but would like it to start of its own accord.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for this weekend - I guess it is only fair that you go first!

YogaMummy2B · 18/02/2011 19:36

Try this recipe according to my midwife it will work within 24 hours to naturally induce labour!!

Also have a look here

Let me know if it works, I'm 35 weeks with first and planning to start trying all methods from 38 weeks!!!

Luck

slowangels1 · 19/02/2011 07:57

My show had no blood either. It was a few hours later that I started contractions but still took 68 hours from then before she arrived so it could still take a while. Good luck! Smile

slowangels1 · 20/02/2011 09:20

well a couple of days and still no more than irregular BHs. Not hjolding out hope...

Send your husband off to a concert for the evening, with no mobile coverage.

Worked a treat, I was well on the way by the time he got home!

Mind you, you might not want the next 27 hours of my labour. But it ended well Grin

Good luck
