as I said above, the glamorous side of pregnancy :)...9 weeks pg now. Had early scan last week as had some spotting, and saw baby there and ok so far.

Realise now that the bleeding started with the poo, then continued as brown discharge afterwards. Same since.

Do I just hang on in there, 12 week scan 15th March...I think that things are ok...anyone else shed any light on this?! Thanks

i just wanted to add that I have had that too. The midwife suggested cervical erosion. I also had a scan last week after and everything was fine, i was told there was no blood in womb at all so must be coming from somewhere else.

Thanks Yoshimi, glad I'm not the only one, how many weeks are you? Was guessing as the poo passes by it can knock away stuff that's eroded or it might be to do with the pushing when you poo (nice, too much info possibly)

Yup, I had that too a couple of times around 8 weeks. Had previously had cervical erosion and doc reckoned it was combination of that and particularly sensitive cervix on early pregnancy. Had an early scan and all was fine. Just reached full term today!

Doc prescribed lactulose to ease the poo, as it were, but after about 10 weeks never had the problem again.

This happened to me. Also happened when having sex. I had a cervical erosion. It happened right through the pregnancy.

aaah, reassuring, thanks for sharing :)
Didn't happen in first pg, suppose my cervix was rougher and tougher back then?!

I have had this with every pregnancy and I know a lot of women who have - it's totally normal! It usually stops around 10-14 weeks.

thanks Sparklies

Yup.. sounds like cervical erosion. I too had this but not in first pregnancy either. Like you op..poo related! Mine was on and off until 3rd trimester when it stopped. I did have check up at EPU for diagnosis though. Legs astride with student doc peering with torch..lovely!!!!

Choufleur · 17/02/2011 19:45

Mine was 1st pregnancy so I don't think it's to do with that.

mrstickle77 · 17/02/2011 19:57

Happened a few times to me too in the early days, and I had two scans which confirmed all was OK. I was also told it was probably due to a sensitive cervix.

I found fybogel a godsend - when I didn't have to 'squeeze', it wasn't an issue. I've had no more since and I'm now eight days overdue!

good to hear similar experiences, might try and loosen it all up ;)
