Went to yummy Italian last night and for the life of me could not remember what we're allowed to eat! So had to forgo amazing seafood dish of prawns, calamari, mussels, clams etc. Ate boring meatballs.

Was i right or a fool?

i have been eating all shellfish except oysters... my consultant said everything is ok in moderation and as long as you are sure of quality and higene standards...

as most seafood is frozen before it is served it should be fine.

TooTiredtoGoogle · 16/02/2011 21:11

Anything that's not raw (ie oysters, razor clams)

I've been eating everything except oysters but being a bit careful about where I eat them. Had a gorgeous prawn & mussel linguine on Monday - yum.

I don't know how I would survive without my daily prawn mayon sandwich Smile

Enjoy!

I was told by mw that had to be COOKED shellfish, ie a prawn pasta dish, hot prawns but NOT a prawn sandwich, cold prawns. Was she wrong then??

Deciduousblonde · 17/02/2011 11:13

The prawns you get in prawn sandwiches etc are pre-cooked, but cold. I wouldn't reheat those, but would cook raw prawns through if I wanted to eat them warm (I actually prefer them cold).

As long as they are pink, they are cooked.
