Frequency of appointments

I am 13+5, I had my scan last week and all seemed well. I am just wondering how often others see their midwife or consultant.

I am under consultant care due to hypothyroid, I have not yet him and am not going to until my 20 week scan. I have no other appointments between now and then, is this the norm.

I saw my midwife at my booking in and she said she will se me again at 28 weeks.

Am sure I had more check up's than this last time (was over 4 years ago).

I was under consultant care (just discharged back to the midwife, hooray), and was seen at 10 weeks for booking in, 13 weeks for scan, 20 weeks for scan. Will next see a midwife at 24 weeks.

It seems fine to me - do you have anyone you can call if you are not feeling well? Or worried about anything?

Thanks for the reply. I do have numbers for the midwives from the surgery and also for the community midwife so can call if I need to.

Just felt like a long time between check up's but have been more anxious this time due to miscarriage last year, feel like I need constant reassurance that all is well

I am pregnant with dc2 and am under the care of the local midwife (through the GP surgery).
I had a midwife appointment at 16 weeks, then my 20 week scan at the hospital and my next appointment will be with the midwife at 28 weeks. If it was my first pregnancy I would also see the midwife at 25 weeks to talk about ante-natal classes. In my maternity notes there is a list of which appointments/dates so I know when to book appointments - do you have anything like that in your folder/notes?

Just looked, has 12, 20 and 28 weeks, nothing after that, suppose the consultant will book me in again after seeing him at 20 weeks.

I'm under shared care between the community midwife and consultant because of hypothyroidsim. The basic idea here is to have appointments every 4 weeks from 12 weeks until 36 and then every 2 weeks until 40, then more often.

In reality what happened was my scan was at 13+6. I had a consultant appointment at 17ish. 20 week scan and today had a 24 week check up with the midwife where we booked an appointment for 28 weeks also. With all those I also have extra blood tests to check my TSH every 6 or so weeks.

Do you know if you are meant to be seeing a midwife as well? Or are you just meant to call them if you have concerns? I only saw the consultant once and she wasn't really sure why I was there anyway!

I am Hypothyroid but also have anti-thyroid antibodies. So my plan is:

10 weeks Booking
12 week scan
16 week Consultant and bloods
20 week scan
24 week Midwife
28 weeks Consulatnt and growth scan
34 weeks consultant and growth scan
38, 40 weeks midwife

You should have a rudimentary 16 week antenatal check-up with your first baby before your 20 week scan.

There's usually some flexibility in the system: I had fortnightly appointments throughout last time (2nd pregnancy) as first pregnancy had with pre-eclampsia and they wanted to keep an eye on me. Now (3rd pregnancy) I'm back on the standard system but happy with it.

If you think you have a sympathetic midwife it might be worth explaining your worries - a mc last time and all the associated worry sounds like a pretty good reason for more appts to me.
