Im currently 17+6 with baby number 3 and I will admit I am now stressing a bit as I havent felt any movements.
Im sure I had felt something by now especially with number 2.

it doesnt help that I dont have my scan until I am 22 weeks either thats ages away for some reasurance !

Am I expecting too much at this stage already ? There are women on my antenatal thread reporting thuds, kicks and somersaults already !! Hmm

I was worried about this, although first baby so I know it takes longer. It depends on the position of the placenta, as I had an interior placenta I didn't feel anything clear until about 21 weeks.

If you are really worried can you pay for a private scan?

I found that I felt movements later with each baby. Last time around (no.4) there was nothing until 21 or 22wks.

17+6 is still quite early.

I'm 21 + 3, and I only felt little 'twinges' a few days ago for the first time.

Had my scan yesterday and was told the placenta is at the opening of the womb which stops you from getting a lot of movements... So don't worry - we all get feelings at different times for different reasons :)

Drink something ice cold and eat something sugary and then go lie down and keep absolutely still for a few mins.... baby usually responds to the cold & sugar & hopefully you might feel something.....although this was a tip I got for when I was further along than you are now.....but worth a try maybe?

Guacamole · 16/02/2011 13:35

I didn't feel anything until 20 weeks.

TallulahDoesTheHula · 16/02/2011 13:38

I bet your placenta is at the front. It was with my DC2 and I didnt feel anything until almost 20 weeks.
Same with this pregnancy, havent felt anything yet

meditrina · 16/02/2011 13:41

You're still well within normal.

But if it's worrying you, 4+ weeks until scan is too long. Could you ask at next check up if they can listen for heartbeat?
