Brown mucus/discharge - should I worry?

I'm 5wks with #2 and am feeling a bit worried - I wiped a (v v tiny) bit of light brown mucus/discharge this morning, and another tiny bit just now.

Is this the start of something bad or just one of those things? I didn't experience it when PG with DD so don't know if I should take it in my stride or not.

I'm a bit paranoid because apart from being tired and having a stuffy nose, I don't have any of the symptoms I had with DD - felt so sick for the whole pregnancy and had that horrible metallic taste all the time for the first 10 weeks or so.

Can anyone reassure me or is this enough to get on the phone to the EPU? I don't want to miss anything but don't want to over-react either.

PS no pains and no red blood or anything other than I've described above. Had lots of cramping about a week ago but nothing worse than a normal period cramp.

Definitely get on the phone to your local midwife / hospital. I am sure you are totally fine, but it is best to get yourself checked out. I had brown discharge (although it was about 26 weeks for me), and they got me in for a check up and scan and everything. There's absolutely no harm in asking them the question... (but whatever you do, don't stress, I really am sure it'll nothing, like it was for me - apparently this sort of thing happens loads.)

Isnt that what they call the implantation bleed? I havent noticed it, but have read about it. I am 28 weeks pregnant with my second , and I feel totally different with this pregnancy, so I dont think that is anything to worry about. I am sorry I am not more help - but I am sure an expert will be along any minute now. Congratulations Grin

I had EXACTLY that today! Same no. of weeks as you as well. I was SO worried.

Like you i dont want to put myself through the extra stress of actually seeing the doc. if it's all for nothing Confused

If its any help i spent an hour on the net and found the majority of people say this is indeed NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT unless its red blood. Fingers crossed for us both hun :) x

Thanks both - I did wonder if it was implantation but it was so tiny I'm not sure. To be honest if I wasn't -obsessively- looking for any problems I wouldn't have noticed it as it was so little both times.

I will keep an eye and call MW/hosp tomorrow if there is any more.
