Can't remember from last time Blush...but is it normal to have no check ups with midwife/Dr...between the booking in at 12 weeks and 20 week scan???.

15+6 and feels like ages till 20 weeks Hmm.

Yes unless other issues

nannyl · 14/02/2011 18:06

i have seen midwife at 5 and 9 weeks
scan 12 weeks
routine midwife appt at 15 weeks
scan 20 weeks
routine midwife apt at 21 weeks

thats just routine here for normal uncomplicated midwife led pregnancy

PukeyMummy · 14/02/2011 18:32

Yes, was like this for me last time and also this time.

AnytimeNOW · 14/02/2011 18:38

nannyl that's what I thought...routine check up around around 15 weeks.

If you don't mind me asking what part of the country are you?

Not sure if it's different depending on area? anybody know?

TIA

I had a routine appt with the midwife at 16 weeks.

pirateparty · 14/02/2011 18:44

NICE guidelines say you should have an appointment at 16 weeks (see page 4).

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 14/02/2011 18:47

There is a routine appt at 16 weeks, but then with 2nd and subsequent pregnancies you get nothing more here until 28 weeks following 20 week scan.

Thanks Hardandsleazy, Nannyl, Pirateparty and Alibabaandthe40nappies (great name lol).

I will have a look at the link, thanks for that!.
I have been under consultant care because of previous losses, at a hospital not close to home...will contact G.P and find out about community midwives? hopefully will be able to get a quick appointment to possibly hear heartbeat?...was a bad idea hiring a fetal doppler! haven't located heartbeat since I got it!Confused.

I'm under consultant care too, and now at 34 weeks I seem to have an appointment somewhere with somebody every week, nightmare! :)

Step away from the doppler!
