6 weeks pregnant and eager to avoid constipation(which i suffer from a bit even when not pregnant). Normaly i would down 5 or 6 senakot once a week for a 'clear out' (sorry:))but am not sure about doing this now. So .... I'm eating wholemeal bread now and i've bought some dried figs ... but how many should i eat and how often to keep me regular? And are prunes as good? And is anything else fruity good?

I would have three or four dried figs or one whole fresh one and that was enough to sort me out. Prunes would have the opposite effect on me (even if they are yummy with warm custard).

Apricots are generally good and a banana a day supposedly helps with regularity.

can vouch for apricots, they are high in iron too (my iron levels have been low since about half way).
Four dried figs or three fresh ones count as one of your five a day.
