Here goes.......... I have an iud fitted. I had sex with a one night stand on the 9th December. About two weeks later my boobs started to hurt. Ive felt a little sick but not too much. I really dont want to be pregnant, im 42 and a single parent. I bought two clear blue pregnancy tests this morning and did one. The test came up negative. Hurray i thought so i put it in the bin. Checked it again just now and its now got the line down the middle which says im pregnant. Ive done the second test and that says im not pregnant. HELP!!! Do the tests alter hours after you have done them??

Yes they can alter, I think it's called an evaporation line.

I think there can be an 'evaporation line' which can look like a positive, if that helps? They're not valid after a certain amount of time and that's perhaps why?

Thank god for that! Thanks so much. I know its highly unlikely that i am pregnant given that the iud is 99% accurate. I think i am going to ask to be sterilised, i panic after i have sex every time and convince myself im pregnant. Its not good for my mental wellbeing!!

Go to your GP and have yourself checked out...just to double check and put your mind at rest.

Ive just checked the clearblue website and the BFP on their has a lot thicker line than the one on my first test, the line on my test is very very thin and the second one is still showing that im not thank goodness!!
