I posted a bit earlier about this but asked a different question.

Right, background...

I've been feeling nauseous (sp) for the last 2 weeks. My boobs started to hurt a week ago and I started to think I could be Pg as I wasn't getting any PMT signs either like spots or being moody (lol!)
But on monday, AF arrived. It was slightly lighter than normal but not massively. The only other thing that struck me (TMI alert!) was the clots they normally just come out without me noticing but this time they were there only when I went to pee.

So after a weird pregnancy dream involving lots of cots, pushchairs and quintuplets, I decided to go to the dr's.
She ruled out Vertigo, Cold/Flu and stomache upsets as I've had no other symptoms. She also felt my stomache and after a bit of writing she said "it sounds from what you've told me, it's a preganacy and tbh if this does come back negative I want to do another test as it can take a few weeks to show". So I was asked to bring in a urine sample.

I rang them today and after a bit of confusion it has come back negative. The receptionist called me back later and said my Gp has asked me to re test in 4 weeks
Dh isn't happy about it as he thinks if it's something else it needs sorting out.

The reason I went to the Gp in the first place was to eliminate any other cause of feeling sick so to wait another 4 weeks seems mad.
I am just soo confused and baffled so I thought I'd ask you guys and see if you can help me see a bit clearer.

Do you think I could be pg?
Could I re test earlier than 4 weeks?
Is it worth me home testing or will I be just wasting my money?
And if it's not pregnancy, what is it?

All honest replies gratefully received. I'd like to get some sleep tonight!

yes i think you could be pregnant
yes, retest in a couple of days
yes, do a home test

if it isn't pg... then i don't know... but i wouldn't be happy waiting 4 weeks to find out!

Nbg · 14/10/2005 20:33

Oooh just re read my post. That was long!

Thanks.
The only thing that bugs me with the home testing is that it's just the same as a hospital one but it costs and I could end up doing them everyday, lol!

I feel a trip to poundland coming on!

OP posts:
Nbg · 14/10/2005 20:42

I haven't taken anything for it Tipex.

I forgot to add with the nausea, it presents itself like morning sickness. I get it as soon as I wake up, then it wears off and comes back again in the evening.
It's like a lump in your throat IYKWIM.

nbg, i've got quite a lot of cheap tests from the internet (which reliably informed me i was pg with dd ). would you like me to send you some?

Nbg · 14/10/2005 20:45

How much do you want for them HC?

OP posts:
madmarchscare · 14/10/2005 20:45

More or less agree with Tipex. I think the doc is just being super cautious.

startingtobehalloweenylover · 14/10/2005 20:46

maybe you feel sick because you're worried about being pg?

hoxtonchick · 14/10/2005 20:49

oh no, i don't want money, i'll just stick them in the post if you want them.

Nbg · 14/10/2005 20:52

Omg really? Thats so nice of you.

Can I pay the postage or something?

How late is was your period.?

A couple of years ago I had an early miscarriage. I was TTC at the time so I tested when I was late. It was negative, my period came a couple of weeks later, it was unusual in the same way you described. It stopped and then started again two weeks later. I went to GP and then had a positive test, any way to cut a long story short, I had a miscarriage in the end.
Could you ask your GP for a blood test, to check for hormone levels, that should tell you one way or another. I agree four weeks is a long time to wait.

Nbg · 14/10/2005 21:02

It wasn't late Cori. My periods are anytime between 25-30 days. On Monday it was 25 and it's just finished so pretty normal really.

I did wonder about a miscarriage but having had an early one before I think I would have realised IYSWIM.

Oooh are you Tipex?

I'm not mad and it would be nice to be pg but if I'm not I'd just like to know why I have felt sick everyday for the last 2 weeks.
