I had an episiotomy 5 years ago with the birth of my DD, am due again next month is it likely that they will cut me again? Or have people had 2nd labours without needing it again?

I had episiotomy with DS and 4 1/2 years later gave birth to DD with only a minor tear which needed no treatment at all! Good luck!

Had episiotomy with DS and then when I had DD, my episotomy tore - the tear was the same size as the episiotomy plus 1 or 2 more stitches.

However,

-there were 24 months between the births, so not sure if your episiotomy scar would be stronger than mine after 5 years

-my DD was born quite quickly and due to short staffing, I wasn't being looked after. I don't know if they would have done another episiosomy if they had realised she was being born. Quote from midwife - "calm down, you probably have another 10 hours of labour - DD born a few minutes later".
