Bump to stomach last night - reassurance needed

I know I'm being a pillock but....

I'm nearly 10 weeks gone and last night my bloody darling cat leapt from the arm of the sofa and landed with all 4 paws in my abdomen. I had some minor pains straight away with tingling at the top of my legs, and this morning I'm still feeling a bit bruised.

Could I have done any serious damage, or is a bit of thump in the tummy ok at this early stage?

Your bean is very well protected in fluid so I wouldnt have any concerns there. Your pains may be where you tensed your stomach muscles and strained yourself a bit. Take it easy and of course if you experience any spotting then get yourself checked out but personally I wouldnt worry at all

Baby is still mainly inside your pelvis and is inside a big bubble filled with fluid, he/she will more than likely be fine just take it easy and if you're at all worried give the midwife a ring for some reassurance.

When I was pregnant with DS I was completely accident prone. I tripped over my own feet when I was about 11 weeks and landed flat on my front on the kitchen floor. At 22 weeks I slipped getting out of the bath and whacked everything on my left side. This time around I have DS treating me like his own private climbing frame and the occassional knee or elbow finds it's way to my tummy.

And you're not being a pillock :)

I'm sure you'll be fine. Your uterus won't even have risen above your pubic bone yet, so it's well-protected :)

When I was about 25 weeks pregnant with my son I was playing rounders and fell over, landing pretty much right on my front. Everything was fine, although I gave everyone else at the picnic a bit of a scare!

Hi Daisybell1, I've been having the same problem with both my cats all through my pregnancy (am 28 weeks today). Don't worry, you will be fine! Everything is very protected, and I think it would need one helluva large cat to do any serious damage!

Both my cats tend to jump on me in bed in the mornings to 'gently' remind me that it's feeding time - and one of them is quite big, about 4.5-5kg! Everything is still fine with bump, apart from me being left quite breathless when they manage to land... But it's getting more difficult for them as I now sleep only on my side.
They also both like to cuddle up against or even on my bump.

Thanks all, I'm feeling better and starting to relax now Smile
