Curious really, very much too early for me I think - 12 weeks just but curious as to when it happens usually.

DS is 5 next week so I assume muscles etc will be 'normal' or whatever term it is they use etc - in that case does it count as first time pg wrt the movements/labour - have been wondering that as well?!

hiya, congrats and all that Grin

i am pg with no.2 and first felt the flutterings at 13 weeks dead on. i was sat still on the sofa and felt it, and felt it every day from there on. not all day, just maybe a couple of times a day if i was still.

i am 16 weeks tomorrow and am stating to feel it move, rather than just the fluttering feeling. again, its only a couple of times a day, but definatly still there.

as for muscles being mormal, i dont think they ever do go back to being normal once you have had one! not for us mere mortals anyway. if you were a celeb andhad personal trainers and all that, then maybe, but mine certainly didnt. i was talking to someone at the school gate the other day about getting bigger second time round and she said it was liek being a used sock. once its been worn, it looses all stretch and goes all soggyGrin

congrats to you as well. :) can I ask - roughly how high up did you feel it - i'm sure with DS it was quite low down, but i've just felt something similar but a lot higher up (mid tum) - think it was wind Blush lol.

hahaha love the analergy (sp) have been working out & stuff but not lately. ah well fingers crossed for a quick labour then - also hoping DP feels the baby move earlier than XH did with DS, as he goes away when i'm 21 weeks, so would like him to feel it before then. (think was 24 weeks for DS)

I was sure I felt them around 13 or 14 weeks but noone believed me.

lizandlulu · 13/02/2011 20:24

well the first time i felt it it was really low, like in lower abdomen, but have been feeling it more like belly button area and just about, which is odd and makes me wonder where it actually stops in its waters, if you know what i mean.

i have a really fat belly (which has always been there Grin) so i am not expecting dh to be able to feel it till i get much bigger, but i am on antoehr thread and a lady on there is 16 weeks nad her dh felt it when it had hiccups, she did say he placed his hand quite firmly on her belly to be able to feel it tho.

ment to read just above, not just about

davidtennantsmistress · 13/02/2011 20:27

ooh excellent, i'll have to get DP to lay on my tummy then as it grows, it's his first so gutted for him to be missing all the 'fun' bits (ie between 21-35 weeks) still not to worry.

with DS though I ever felt him move by touching my tum, or saw his feet move etc - you know how women sometimes see the whole baby move about & stuff - bit short changed really.

Glad to hear that it's a lot earlier 2nd time around thou.

wow you are going to have your hands full in that time then! he will prob be really shocked at how much you grow in that time

I definitely felt DC2 at 12 weeks, the belt of my jeans was pushing in under my belly button and I thought "I know that feeling!".

i don't think I would have felt it had I not had those jeans On - though I swear I was hoofed in the bladder by DD1 at 14 weeks when leaning over, it was like being briefly assaulted by a tiny elf!

And I am huuuuuuuuge compared to first time round, I was still in normal skirts for another few weeks this time last time but I've been in maternity clothes for about 10 weeks now!

'Used sock' is a good way of describing it!

davidtennantsmistress · 13/02/2011 20:47

bev when did you go into maternity wear?

again with DS was about 20-14 weeks ish, but I have a horrid feeling this time i'll be lucky to make it to 14 weeks! (I blame the salad cream and carbs I keep craving lol)

Liz - I know bless him, will be taking weekly photo's thou & skype when we can, and he wants me to put the phone to my bump so he can talk to it still for a little while.

I am 18+ 4 and have felt fluttering fo about 2 weeks now not that much earlier that with DD.

brizzagirl · 13/02/2011 21:08

Felt flutterings at 15 weeks with DC2. Never saw feet, hands etc making a shape on my bump with DS1 so hoping that will happen this time!

Beveridge · 13/02/2011 21:14

I'm 26 weeks, I dug out my maternity stuff from last time just after my 12 week scan. I started wearing a lot of it just because I had it and to get the good of it but by 16 weeks, I had to consign most of my non-maternity stuff to the other side of the wardrobe.

Thankfully, it really is mostly bumpage, I don't feel like I'm actually ballooning in weight as such.

stripeysock · 13/02/2011 21:53

i felt flutters at 10-11 weeks x

nutterbutsquash · 16/02/2011 13:18

I'm sure I have felt it move but then occasionally I feel it right up in my chest so am wondering if it's wind too!

Bicnod · 16/02/2011 13:20

Currently pg with DC2 and have felt movement since 13 weeks. And DH could feel teeny kicks if he put his hand in the right place from 16 weeks Shock what have we created?! Grin

Greenmantle · 16/02/2011 13:48

Bizarrely, much later this time round - about 20 weeks. In my first pregnancy, it was 17/18 weeks. Mind you, the midwife told me that the placenta is lying at the front of my stomach (is there a technical term for this?) which means I don't feel as much movement as is usual.
