Odd question but - is it dangerous for the baby when using household cleaners e.g. polish, bathroom cleaner, window cleaner, etc? Confused

I think only the ones with the irritant/chemical black cross on orange background, like oven cleaner.

My rule is: if in doubt either don't do it, or get DH to do it!

No, its not dangerous, I'd be careful with oven cleaner, make sure kitchen is ventilated etc but no more dangerous in pregnancy than when not pregnant. I clean for a living and am at the end of my third pregnancy - hate to disappoint you but you can keep cleaning Grin

Wigglerock I have to correct you it is not I repeat NOT safe to keep cleaning during pregnancy....

What were u thinking......my husband could of read that (after he has finished his latest list of daily chores). Grin

I asked this question and was told ok to use those that u buy routinely in supermarkets but make sure u are well ventilated especially with ovens. I did have a woozy moment using bleach in our small downstairs bathroom which doesn't have a window but I suppose because of fumes. It's constant smelling that could be an issue so only if u r are a cleaner by trade or intense inhalation.

Ps realising I am posting to a cleaner by trade...midwife said was fine as u take all the precautions as you would normally do anyway.
