Im 24+4 with baby number 4 and have been having calf pain for about a week now. I woke in the night in excruciating pain, which made me fly out of bed
Im finding it hard to put all my weight on it and when i stretch it out it hurts.
I had a queried DVT in my last pregnancy twice, once whilst pregnant and once the day after k was born. Both times I was scanned and nothing was found. I am reluctant to see anyone about this as its the same kind of pain as the last two times and dont want to cause an unneccessary fuss.Could it just be something else?

Any advice? If i do need to contact someone who?

sounds like restless leg syndrome. That happened to me and my leg felt like it was bruised for hours afterwards. And it bloody hurt.

Fairly common in pregnancy. Google it - you'll come up with loads

Swollen?

Sore to squeeze calf or to bring toes up towards you (oppposite to pointing toes)?

Out of Breath?

Head to GP/A&E and get it checked out - they're better placed to do the worrying if needed and we can't really reassure or diagnose properly without seeing you and your leg. No point sitting home and fretting about it though.

I think you need to get it checked out.

I had bi-lateral pulomonary emboli in a previosu pregnancy and they told me it must have started as a DVT or clot in my leg somewhere, but I hadn't noticed one at all. If it is a DVT it could become serious, so better safe than sorry.

I am 36 weeks +3 and was diagnosed with a DVT in my groin in early Jan. Symptoms started on the sunday night, aching leg, couldn't put weight on it in bed (ie: couldn't lie on it), progressively get worse each day to the point were no position was comfortable and I could barely walk. On thursday my entire leg swelled up and went purple, my thigh was 2 inches bigger than the other thigh.

If you are worried I would get it checked out - its better to be safe than sorry and if it is a DVT you don't want it travelling up. You are not causing a fuss by going to see your doctor, and they should be able to tell you if they are worried (I went to my regular doctor and they were the ones who rushed me to hospital.). Best of luck. : )
