Raspberry leaf tea- unpleasant side effects?

A bit of a TMI one this- sorry!

Have had a serious bout of diarrhea this afternoon. I have been wracking my brains as to what I may have eaten or drunk to bring it on, and the raspberry leaf tea (a bit late to start at 38+2, I know!) is the only thing that's a bit different.

Has anyone else had this with the tea? I only had two cups yesterday and two the day before, but thought it may be the culprit...!

You're not alone. Sometimes the tea has loosened up my bowels as well. I kept drinking it and it stopped. I also increased my intake of green veggies and fruit. That helped some, too.

I had the same thing too but it went away after a few days - it's brilliant for late pregnancy constipation lol.

My top tip is to try it chilled over ice, I loved that at the end of my last pregnancy.

Thanks ladies.

Good tip CBear6!

Wow Cocachannel, just started drinking it as well about two days ago and had the same symptoms.......although i also feel quite dizzy and light headed. Did you experience that?

I'm going to continue - no pain no gain!

Yes, I did get very light headed last night now that you mention it but didn't put the two together...

Very few studies conducted on the effectiveness of raspberry leaf tea although there was one undertaken in australia (link below). Not statistically significant but after ready it I'm definitely keen to push through the side effects......of which are nausea, increased Braxton Hicks and diarrhoea and because we are special, light headedness.

or it could be an early sign of labour - good luck!

That occured to me this evening PinkElephant- but I don't want to get my hopes up!
