I had GD in my last pregnancy, had to be controlled with insulin.

How likely would it be, were i to get pregnant again, that i should develop GD again?

I didn't get GD but my sister did with her first pg. With her 2nd they said it was likely she would get it again, and she did.
Controlled 2nd one with diet though.

But not sure if that's just her and you could be different. Perhaps speak to your GP?

I know I read that the liklehood is much increased if you get pg the 2nd time within 2 years. I didnt know this until i got pg 6mths after no 1 - and I do have it again.

yes, I'm afraid it's much more likely. My midwife said that if I plan to ttc then they'd like me to make an appointment with my GP first so they can check in case I've got undiagnosed type 2 (you have a 50% chance of developing it at some point in your life if you got GD).

If that comes back negative then they'll start me blood monitoring at 12 weeks pg and keep it going throughout.

Hope that helps
