i'm currently 23 weeks. i started off as a size 12, now i'm a size 14. i've seen a really nice dress for a wedding which is at the end of april. just wondering whether i should order a 14 or a 16? I am trying to eat a normal amount, not over-indulge.

Do you mean size 14 in maternity clothes? I'm not sure anyone will be able to tell you, think it just depends on the person. I have friends who managed to hardly buy any maternity clothes for their whole pregnancy and could still get into slightly larger pairs of their pre-preg jeans. I was a size 8/10 when I had DD I felt I put on quite a lot of weight esp round my bum and thighs. At the end of my pregnancy I was wearing size 12 maternity. With DS I think most of maternity clothes were a size 10 and fingers crossed this pregnancy seems to be similar. Am 26 weeks now and size 10 maternity still seems to be ok. It does also depend on the shop though - as with 'normal' clothes sizes can vary, a 10 in one shop may be small and in another could be hanging off!

I think it's average to put on about two stones, if that helps.

i would just buy closer to the time sorry if that doesnt help but all of a sudden you could just have a growth spurt you never know what size you will b from 1 week to the next

Agree with above post. 2 days ago I was a very different shape and size and now will not even buy my party outfit for 3 weeks from now. Amazed at waking up so different..... :(

lol jimmychoo i dont really recognise a difference daily but if i dont see someone for a week theyre like 'wow' how big u got.
i have been taking a weekly photo of bump but tbh i can deffinately FEEL when ive got bigger.

Another one agreeing about waiting until closer to the time. I tried on all my summer clothes a week before I went on holiday, managed to find quite a reasonable selection that fit, when I got there could only fit into one pair of shorts, a dress and a skirt that didn't go with any of the tops I could still fit in to!!

Would also say that if not maternity dress, then you could find that going up too many sizes will mean it's too big around your shoulders.

ive went from size8/10 in general, to size 12maternity.. and growing...i'm trying not to buy too much your not in it long.

I've stayed my clothes size 12/14 but maternity clothes in same sizes are really huge on me. Sticking with my 12 jeans and trousers with a bump band but tops am not xure about...do maternity tops increase for your boobs too, not just your bump?

Luluz honestly the changes have been slow and gradual this was overnight!!! I wonder if it's just swelling and water tho as my legs were wider too. Hideous :-(

Can't find any nice decent loose pretty tops in shop that last year were filling the shops. Roll on summer dresses! X
