I will be at least 6-7 weeks on my scan, will I see a heartbeat?, Also secondly if I turn out to be 10-14 weeks I obviously wont get a 12 week scan as I will have had it but if I am 6-7 weeks will I still be offered a 12 week scan? When I am 10-14 weeks or would they be able to do everything they do at the 12 week scan at 6 weeks ? Thanks for reading and any replies.

I think the heart beat starts at around 6 weeks, so you might.
Also if you are later then they will probably just do a 12 week scan, as this is the only time they can do the tests and checks for downs syndrome and encepholi.
I think that is right.

I had a 5-6 week scan as they thought it was eptopic (It turned out not to be!) and from the surface they could see a strong heartbeat, but depending on size and shape sometimes they have to do an internal scan where they see the heartbeat. I was told they can't date the pregnancy from this scan and so 12 weeks was offered to find out a proper due date as the baby was too small to measure properly. you can also see if there's a possibility of twins at 5-6 weeks, on mine 2 pregnancy sacks showed up but they could only see one heartbeat, and then by the 12 weeks scan (which turned out to be 14 week so they can never be exactly sure on the really early scan) there was only one baby that had pulled through.
hope this helps! :)

I went for my 12 week scan but due to my crazy cycle was actually only 9 weeks - they had me back for the 12 week scan because at 9 weeks they can't see to check everything they check at 11-14 weeks. So I'm sure you'll be offered another scan later on.

Thanks FeralGirlCambs I was wondering if I would miss the 12 week scan I know you cant see much on a early scan and it is not a guaranttee all is well and while the 12 week scan is not a guarantee either it is alot more positive if everything looks good.
