TMI Alert! DC1's nappies and Morning sickness...

TMI alert!

Thought this was something that other mums-to-be of DC2/3/4/5 etc might relate to. Or is it just me?

Currently 14 weeks pg with DC2 and morning sickness has been worse than with her anyway.

Had the Day From Hell with DD1 (not yet potty trained) and dirty nappies.

She didn't have a single dirty nappy when at nursery yesterday and ate loads, so I shouldn't have been surprised when today, which she spent with me, she produced three huge steaming dirty nappies. Three! She didn't even eat much today and normally I only have to contend with one a day...but three! All had me retching and desperately trying to exert mind over matter.

Then, when I thought it couldn't get any worse, the cat pooed on the floor. DH has been dealing with the cat litter since I found out I was pg but he's not back home from work yet, so I had to don some gloves and deal with that too.

Brings back lovely memories of my pukey Christmas Day just gone, when DD1 had diarrhoea and gave me six horrible nappies. DH was busy cooking dinner for everyone so couldn't even help me.

And I can't even have a Wine to help me forget about it.

Sorry, just had to get this out of my system. Hope I haven't made any of you run for the toilet now...

The smell of my kids wee nappies in the morning sent me running for the loo to be sick lol

PukeyMummy · 10/02/2011 21:20

Oh, now that's bad harrygracejessica, you poor thing!

You should do what mortuary workers do and smear some vicks under your nose before you remove the offending nappy!

(obviously check that vicks is ok in preg first)

PukeyMummy · 10/02/2011 21:34

Top tip, thank you CuppaTeaJanice!

It's got so bad for me that even the smell of baby wipes makes me puke :(

I'm 20 weeks now & it is horrendous - dd2 is 20months & poos a lot, ds is 4 has ASD & bowel issues with frequent (4+ times a day) overflow diarrhoea. Yesterday I had to peel him out of his clothes twice after he exploded; poo all over the floor & wall. Then had to clean up my own vomit too because I couldn't get to the toilet in time.

PukeyMummy · 10/02/2011 22:07

Okay, Phlebas, you win hands-down.

Am going to stop moaning - you have it far worse, you poor thing.

I was about to post the vicks-under-nose trick, but CuppaTeaJanice beat me to it. I used to keep the vicks next to the wet wipes for all poopy nappy related incidents.

My friends must have thought I permanently had a blocked nose/cold because I think I smelt of vicks for 9 months! It really worked though, I watched Silence Of The Lambs one night and got the idea.

I meant to add to Plebas do you have hyperemesis gravidarum? If you haven't already, maybe see your doc, I had it and it was truly awful. They gave me pills and whilst I still felt ill every minute of the day and night it stopped me actually throwing up.

Yesterday DD1 crawled off before i could button up the bottom of her sleepsuit. She pooed out the side of her nappy and left a trail all over the carpet in the sitting room. No, not good for MS at all.

Try shirt over nose and suck on a sweet! The preggie pop ones are expensive but good...

PukeyMummy · 11/02/2011 08:54

I love Preggie Pops! Just run out but DH is off to the States on a business trip soon, so will ask him to get me some more.

In the meantime will be trying the Vicks trick.

Thanks kviddy and I did buy last batch from Amazon. I also figured that DH could buy some when he's next over there.

In the meantime, DD had another three-poo day yesterday but luckily had the MIL on hand and she dealt with all three nappies. Yay!

I did try the Vick's tip on Friday and it seemed to work.
