Do moses basket stands have to be the same brand as the basket?

Probably a daft question but .... I don't want to spend £35 on a moses basket stand. If I got one from ebay would it fit any moses basket? Or, would I need a JL stand to fit a JL moses basket?

we borrowed a stand from one person and the basket from another. I then gave the stand to a person with a differnt basket. So it fitted at least 3 baskets. Am not sure it means every stand will fit any basket but the wicker is fairly flexible.

Am pretty sure they don't need to be the same brand.

Are you absolutely sure you need a stand? I just shoved the basket down on the floor (out of drafts, of course).

Our basket was a gift, and stand is from JL.

They are pretty standard and not that precise so any stand would work I think.

I'm pretty sure they are standard too. We just bought a moses basket from JL (what a steal!!) and borrowed a M+P stand from our cousin. They fit together perfectly, nice and snug.

Thank you so much - v.helpful advice. Pretty sure we need a stand as no-where really to put moses basket in our bedroom and being the clumsy type am worried I'll step on it if I put it on the floor! :)
