Erm, tender cervix?

Not sure about this and apols in advance if tmi, but my cervix has been feeling a bit tender for the last few days. I'm not even sure whether it's my cervix, but it's definitely internal, not external, and based lower than my abdomen.

To give a bit of background, I had a UTI a couple of weeks ago and wondered whether that had come back so I had my urine tested and it was all clear. The nurse suggested it might be the baby's position, although I'm only 17 weeks.

This morning DH and I had a rare bit of bedroom action Wink and it's made it feel even more tender. It doesn't hurt but it's a very uncomfortable feeling - a bit like when the baby kicks you in the pelvis but a constant feeling.

I'm not overly worried as I've had no bleeding, can feel the odd little movement (in line with my stage) and I don't have any abdominal pain. I'd just wondering what this might be and how I can relieve it.

Any help much appreciated. Confused

I was actually at the hospital all day yesterday due to this. I'm 17+4 today. As my pain was only on one side they thought it might have been appendicitis but my blood tests all came back fine. So the nurse said that it could possible be the baby stretching my uterus. They have given me painkillers but unless I'm in severe pain or I start bleeding then there is nothing to worry about and I am fine to just rest until the pain goes away.

I would give your Doctor or MW a ring just to double check they are not worried but it sounds exactly the same as how I am. And both me and baby are fine.

Hope this helps.

I have an erosion on my cervix and during pregnancy it makes it quite sore and tender. A bit like a mild sunburn on my cervix. Sex can certainly exacerbate it.

You might also find that the baby has wiggled into a position where it is sitting on a nerve. DD did this quite a lot and it can cause a whole range of sensations from shooting pains to discomfort.

I'd mention it to your midwife but I think there are about 17,594 documented feelings under the umbrella of 'weird feelings during pregnancy' and it's likely one of those.

Thank you both. That was just the sort of reassurance I needed.

If you see a pregnant woman doing a funny walk over the next few days it may be me Smile.
