Best painkillers during miscarriage?

Sorry to be posting such a very depressing request!

I had some bad news at the EPU this morning and it looks like I'm starting to miscarry Sad.

The lovely nurse suggested I take a combination of 2 seperate painkillers if the pain got bad. One was paracetamol and codeine and I can't for the life of me remember what the other one was! I recall it was something you can't normally take in pregnancy.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Im so sorry :( i know i used panadol and nurofen plus but they are not strong enough for the really bad labouring pains if you will be at home You might need something stronger then you can get over the counter, id call your g.p maybe she'l just leave a prescription at the desk for you just to have something just in case. But everyone is different it might not be as severe and you could go with the nurofen plus, hot water bottle for your lower back and hot baths too. Im really sorry, take care xxx

Thank you secret I'm off to the chemist in an hour or so just so I'm stocked up and prepared incase it gets painful. Only mild pains at the mo but if it gets too bad I'm only 5 mins from A&E.

Try to take it easy, if you can curl up in bed with a hot water bottle and some comfort food and some telly to help pass the evening with, it might help a bit... The waiting is very hard. Have you anyone to take care of you? I actually didnt want anyone till it was "over" but then i just wanted to sink into a big hole, thats when its super important to have someone to be there for you. It sucks badly doesnt it :(

Very sorry :(
Over the counter co-codamol didn't do it forme. During the very worst I had a couple of tramadols in the hospital. They prescribed me diclofenac and also stronger co-codamol for at home.

I also had some of those nice self- heating period pain pads to stick on specially purchased giant knickers and that did help the cramps.

Hope you will be feeling better soon. Don't suffer at home if it gets too bad, go to the hospital and get some decent drugs.

I got told ibuprofen and paracetemol. Tey also told me that I could go to A&E for morphine if needed while I waited for my ERPC.

Sorry you're having to go through this Sad
