Unbelievable...I have just been told by Media Training Ltd that I can't reschedule my QuarkXpress course starting tomorrow since I'm down with a bad cold, neck problems and heavily pregnant...They have no sympathy whatsoever or customer service care....so will either have to go there sick or lose the training. This course's really important for me as it would improve my CV so much. I was made redundant at Christmas and need to find a new job next year so that's why I booked it in the first place :(

They say their cancellation/reschedule policy is 5 days before the start of the course....But how was I supposed to know last week that I'll get sick? What a joke...Avoid them at all costs if you ever need to book a media course!

Is this not pretty standard? I agree it's frustrating, but they won't be able to fill a spare place tomorrow so would be out of pocket if they refunded you. I think most training companies would be the same.

It might as well be a standard policy but since they run this course all the time, they could easily make the effort to try and book me into one that does not have full numbers attending, i.e. would not be left out of pocket as I wouldn't be taking anyone else's space. I just think it's completely unreasonable to not even make the effort to be helpful, it just seems that they do not care about their customers and just take the money and run. Also, since their cancellation policy is only 5 days, I don't think they'll find anyone to take the cancelled place easily within that time either as it's short notice so there really isn't that much difference...
