Hi All,

I am a disabled mum to be due in May and for about 4 weeks now I have had this annoying cough. At first I thought it was because I recently had a virus but its been nearly 3 weeks since then and I still have this cough! I have tryed everything and nothings working :( sometimes I may get a days repreve but then it comes back stronger than ever.

The doctor just don't know and as I have been on 2 lots of antibiotics for other things the docs are saying that should have cleared it.

Anyone else going through this ?

What sort of cough is it? Could it be linked with the extra snot you get when pg ie some kind of post nasal drip? DD2 has this and it has been diagnosed many times as asthma, chest infection etc before settling on this.

Obviously, I'm not a dr and if he's stumped I'd be asking for a referral.

Ive got a cough Ive had it for about 2 or 3 months and Im 25 weeks. I have put it down to pregnancy its not very servere but sometimes I cant stop coughing. Its mainly a throat cough not really chesty its like I am trying to clear something and its not working. I coughed so much the other day that I put my back out! Good thing about that though is I stopped coughing.

Ive put it down to more saliva and blood and stuff as Ive been getting nose bleeds too and also my organs being pushed up. My reflex is very sensitive and it doesnt take much for me to puke, so the coughing doesnt help there.

I really feel for you, if i didnt have this cough I would enjoy my pregnancy a little bit more.

I'm the same - I am 34 weeks, and have had a cough for about a month now. It seems to only come up when I go out in the cold, and also at night (unless I prop myself up with pillows). My theory is that the baby is squishing my lungs, so that is somehow causing the cough. Not terribly scientific, but it keeps me from getting worried!

I'm 39 weeks pregnant and have had a cough off and on for about 2-3 months. Midwife not that concerned. Just one thing - how's your iron levels? I have had some issues with mine recently and a GP friend happened to mention it to me re cough.

Hi All, thanks for your replys, nice to know I am am not alone.

I am haveing my bloods re done on the 17th by then I shall be over 28 weeks.

The cough is more throat related and no one seems to know proffession wise what to do or they are not that concerned.

I have to prop myself up on pillows because of bad heartburn and it seems the pillows do nothing either.

:(

Same here too. Nearly 22 weeks and had cough since week 16.
Course of antibiotics didn't work - clearly not a chest infection, though it is chesty.

It's definitely to do with the HUGE amounts of mucus my body is producing. The constant, loud blowing of my nose is starting to drive my work colleagues mad .... they should try being me!!

Chances are it may last the next four months (oh, goody!), but hope it starts to ease off soon.

tbh - as long as the little monkey's alright, that's all I care about.
