I'm crunching ice like mad..I've been told that this means my iron levels are low? This is a new development and I'm currently nearly 38 weeks.

Has anyone else heard this...? What should my iron levels been roughly?

I had this late on, the only craving I got. I was heavily pg last December and spent much time eyeing up drifts of snow in the garden, on hedgerows, etc, mmmm Hmm. I heard it can mean low iron, but my iron levels were good all the way through.

im sat here doing this right now. and my iron levels arent low. infact its very common to crave ice through pregnancy, my cousin is the exact same. i was same with my last pregnancy 2.

Ice was my only craving, I ate loads during the last four weeks. My iron count was a bit low during pregnancy, but I don't think that's conclusive... in any case, I didn't particularly do anything about the iron levels (I took some tablets initially but they made me sick so I stopped) and everything was fine, iron levels back to normal soon after the birth. I wouldn't worry, anyway.

Well maybe a nice big fat rare steak for supper..at this stage I don't think it's going to do any harm!

Off to empty the icebox again!
