I'm utterly wretched today. 34 weeks preg with 4th baby. My edest has flu with an agonising ear infection; 2nd has tonsilitis; 3rd has impetigo. They're all winding each other up as they feel rough, the house is a tip, I'm knackered, loads of painful BH, and I'm just worn out and don't feel like I can cope anymore.

I suffer from (usually mild) depression and I think it's worse recently but no point mentioning it to doc as I'm already taking setraline and can't take more because of the baby. But I feel like i could just walk out the house which isn't like me.

Could just cry and hibernate. Thanks for listening!

You poor thing. That's horrible having all three ill at the same time even without depression being involved.

Getting someone in to give you a hand so you can go and rest - even for an hour or two - sounds like a really good idea. Is there a friend or family member nearby who could help?

My other half will be home soon from church (had so go as he does the youth work) so I can chill a bit later, but I'm irritable with him then we have a row.... you know the deal!

The kids are 11, 9 and 3. Thanks for your posts, appreciated! Even just a bit of sympathy helps a great deal! xxxxxxxx

Oh I do feel for you. I am 32 weeks pregnant with number 4 (mine are 10, 7 and 2 so similar to you) and I feel so shattered this time (have anaemia too which is making me so breathless and generally a bit of a useless lump). All 3 of mine were sick at the same time about 3 weeks ago, flu/virus, and I don't know how I got through now (dh was away with work for a week too). It is totally, totally wretched when you have to keep going when all you really want to do is curl up and have a nap. It was a long 10 days for me. I did ring up a local cleaning agency and got someone to do 3 hours ironing for me and clean the bathrooms, was an amazing help, is this an option? I didn't feel guilty at all!
We all managed but it was not a pleasant time and a bit of a struggle and I did shout more than normal as I was so exhausted with looking after them all. I do remember bursting into tears one night when they were all finally in bed and really feeling like I couldn't cope with one more rotten day. It will pass though, just hope they all make a speedy recovery for you.

Hope you are feeling better soon. Maybe plan to do something nice / sleep or just go for a walk on your own later. Don't worry about house work.

Thanks guys! Did have a nap when DH got home then managed to wash my hair AND get the straighteners on it! Even finding the time - and the energy - to have a shower and hair wash is an effort right now, does anyone else find that? But you don't half feel better when you've managed to do it!

Janus, thank you! That helps, just nice to be reassured my reaction is normal. Yes, paid help is an option, the problem is tidying up for someone to clean!!! Catch 22 really, ho hum.

Tomorrow's another day. Thanks again xxxx

Janus, I'm really breathless too but put it down to the baby pressing on my lungs? Maybe I need a bit of iron, maybe that's partly why i'm struggling so much............

Sorry you're feeling rubbish! Nothing constructive to add, just hope you feel better soon!
