Hi,

Hubby and I are trying to conceive at the moment. I'm curious as to when you all started getting symptoms of pregnancy or when you thought you might be? Any advice/stories would be gratefully received!!

Thanks,

MrsKxxx

I was due my period on sat 29th jan. when it didnt arrive that morning, i knew in the back of my mind l was. was in denial about it though and put off testing till wed 2nd! didnt want to waste the money on a test that would say negative! i had symptoms from saturday though. dull cramp in bottom of tummy, boobs were sore, terrible trouble sleeping and when i did dooze off, id be awake again in middle of night for a few hours. tuesday evening, i noticed the veins on my boobs and thats kinda what had made my mind up. i was still sure i wouldnt be testing thought, but wednesday afternoon, it just got to much and i caved lol. done 4 tests and the 2 lines came up within 10 seconds! was no doubt about it!

good luck with your journey!!

Almost straight away, started having light symptoms one week post conception. But my body is super sensitive.

Good luck to you!!

Very quickly with dc2 & 3 just because I know when I ovulate & then didn't get the usual build up signs to a period. The first I only began to suspect at the end of our honeymoon/flight home !

GoodyGumDrop · 05/02/2011 14:00

Me too! Symptoms appeared about 1 1/2 weeks...it started with headaches, being iritable with dcs and later on achey tummy and a hugely increased sense of smell.

FluffyDonkey · 05/02/2011 14:32

I had bloating and stomach cramps one week post ovulation.
Was also more tired than usual.
Didn't get morning sickness until 6 weeks though

BurnAfterReading · 05/02/2011 14:40

The night I conceived I said to DP, we've just made a baby!

few weeks later I went to a party and just couldn't fit comfortably into my outfit, especially my shoes which had fitted me fine before. My feet just felt really swollen and my body was bloated - did a test the next day and confirmed it.

recklesspixie · 05/02/2011 15:02

I knew for sure 10 days after ovulating because I had an ache in my back, it was so bad I couldn't sleep, I never had a sore back before so I looked up symptoms of pregnancy, back ache can be a sign of implantation which happens 10-14 days after ovulation! before I did the test (the day my period was due) my DH said how sure are you that it will be positive and I said 100% or else I'm going mad and making up symptoms!

SnapFrakkleAndPop · 05/02/2011 15:23

Erm if it hadn't been for discovery by medical means I wouldn't have had an inkling until I felt movement at 22 weeks or so and might have not noticed at all until I developed a bump at around 25 weeks!

greenzebra · 05/02/2011 16:14

I had symptoms in the week leading up to my period, I got really tired and sick and had to sit down alot at work. I thought I was just gettign out of shape, as my DH and I had been trying for a year, I didnt think I was. But of course I was hoping I would be.
I always had really bad periods, that made me feel sick and very emotional, so I wasnt sure.
That weekend when I was due for a period I took a pregnancy test on the sunday first thing, my DH was still in bed. I didnt have my glasses on but manged to do it, but I could only see alittle bit so had to take the test into my DH and he said your pregnant baby! and we hugged and that. Anyway sorry I get a bit .............sorry.

Yeah so I the next few weeks I was super hungary all the time and tired but then around week 7 the sickness hit and I had to take 3 weeks off work it was horrible.

I think everyone is so different but tiredness seams to be one to look out for, eveyone I know who has been pregnant says thats there first symptom.

Good luck to you both

cookingfat · 05/02/2011 17:39

Before my missed period.
Mint tea made me retch, I was exhausted, and just felt generally rough. Thought was getting a bug, but DH said I looked different too and kept saying 'you're pregnant'. Smug git was right Grin. Did a test 3 days before LMP - positive, and am now 40+1.

nannyl · 05/02/2011 18:05

i found out at 3weeks 3 days

girlfromdownsouth · 05/02/2011 18:06

Conceived on Sat night, knew by Wednesday I was pregnant with DC3. Super heightened sense of smell, grumpy, scatty, retching whilst brushing teeth, very hungry all the time, very very tender boobs!
Good Luck!

Sierra19 · 05/02/2011 18:09

At about 11 or 12 dpo. I was urinating lots but I was testing every month anyway.

GrumpyFish · 05/02/2011 19:37

DS (DC1) - about 4 days after ovulation - I had horribly tender boobs like I've never had before, to the point where I couldn't wear a bra. Test (first I did, CB digi) was positive at 10 DPO.

Current pg - DC2 - no early symptoms, AF a few days late so took a test and was amazed when it was positive. Symptoms kicked in at about 5 weeks.

MrsKxxx · 06/02/2011 15:37

Thanks everyone!! Really helpful!

Mahraih · 06/02/2011 16:48

I suspected at about 7 weeks - my breasts had grown, which is pretty much the 8th wonder of the world in Mahraih-land, so I knew something was up. Also, my weight was creeping up (another unknown, previously) despite no change in diet/exercise. Pregnancy was the only logical explanation!

Otherwise, no symptoms until about 12 weeks when the morning sickness started.

Mahraih · 06/02/2011 16:49

p.s. I had no missed period as I was on the pill, and habitually ran two packs together.

HLSalter · 06/02/2011 21:18

This is going to sound ridiculous but I fist though I might be pregnant when the smell of pasties made me feel sick. I'm cornish and love nothing more than a nice pasty for my dinner so was a definate sign that something was not normal when I couldn't even walk into the shop because the smell made me feel so sick.

Also the lack of my period was a sign obviously Wink but the pasty thing was what made me buy a pregnancy test Grin

MrsKxxx · 07/02/2011 18:17

Thanks for all your advice again!! It's so hard to work out whats in my head because I want to be pregnant so much and what may be early symptoms...guess we will just have to wait and see...I hate this waiting thing though!! Confused xxxx
