Hi jemys,
I can't offer any insight into your swollen foot, not a pregnancy symptom I've heard of, Is it painful? did you sprain it...I think I'd give the MW a call just to check it out. Always worth it for the peace of mind.

Swollen feet can be common when you're on your feet all day. But if this has come on over night you should get it checked out asap just in case, it could be a symptom of pre-eclampsia. Have you got swelling anywhere else- hands or face?

Ring the labour ward. They'll probably ask you to come in. Water retention like this can be an indicator of pre-eclampsia as mentioned by pozzled. Could be something or nothing, but always better to err on the side of caution.

I would contact midwife / labour ward to ask for advice and check for pre-eclampsia. Do you have a headache? I got pre-eclapsia at this point with my first but had much more generalised swelling in both feet, legs and hands.
definitely worth being checked though.
Good luck

sorry 'pre-eclampsia' :)

At this stage of your pregnancy swelling can be pretty normal if not accompanied by other symptoms. But as said, it can also be a marker for pre-eclampsia ( she says from her hospital bed!), def get it checked out. The MW will take a urine sample to check for protien and discuss other possible symptoms you may be experiencing.

Good luck!

Also pleeeeeease get them to do a risk assessment for DVT!! I.e any pain or redness anywhere. The only reason I say this is that with DD3 I had exactly the same at 37 weeks so attended AAU where they only checked for pre-eclampsia. As BP was ok and no protein in urine I was eventually sent home.

3 days after having DD3 I suffered multiple Pulmonary Emboli and am very lucky to be here now. The hospital admitted that in 'retrospect' they should have considered DVT as the swelling was on one side only and there were no indicators of Pre Eclampsia. It obviously WAS a DVT and as a result I am now on daily anticoagulant injections in my current pregnancy which is fine as it could have been worse!

I dont intend to worry you but I have learnt that awareness of DVT isnt nearly as high as that of Pre Eclampsia and most hospitals would not routinely check for this.

Good luck and I hope all is well! X
