Lost the piece of paper with info, don't want to go over board and be too desperate that I don't concentrate in scan!!

Yes being drunk is not really advisable Grin
you don't need a full bladder for a 20 week scan is my sensible answer.

Tee hee! Will get a bottle of water now, sip away and hopefully I'll be fine!

You don't need a full bladder. Just drink as normal.

yeah true but do drink something otherwise they poke you more trying to see the baby.

when i went for my 20 week scan i asked the nurse whether i needed to have a full bladder and she said no. i'd hardly had any liquid before the scan and it was fine.

I followed the letter & drank a litre of water - such a bad move, Ultrasound was running v.late and by the time I got in there I was ready to pee on the bed! Blush Sonographer had the cheek to say "ooh, that's a very full bladder isn't it?" "err, yeah... thanks, can you stop looking at my bladder now and focus on the baby before I wet myself...?"

Finally, a scan where I could concentrate on looking at the baby and not think "hurry up I need a wee"! Lucky, because that could be the last ever! Just drank some water but allowed for them always running late.

My letter specifically said not to worry about drinking more than usual - and they were running half an hour late so drinking loads of water would have been a fail!

When I had mine they told me to have a full bladder, so I started drinking an hour before as recommended. They had to wait for my bladder to fill up as it wasn't full enough, then I got sent for a wee as it was too full Hmm
It took 2.5 hours in total for them, to get all the measurements they needed...my bump was so sore afterwards.
