Washing the Moses basket?

I just bought a new Moses basket from john Lewis and was wondering if I should remove all the material and wash it?

I have thought about this, too. Have also bought a new M basket form JL. I thought I might take all the packaging off to give it some time to air and maybe get round to washing it a bit later on (baby not due for while yet). I don't see what harm washing it will do.

I would just to check that there weren't any loose threads and to get rid of the dusty/storing smell, so it smells like my home iyswim?
