Anyone like to guess if I'm close to going in to labour??

I'm 39 weeks
DC3
I've been feeling 'odd' for a couple of days - unusually sleepy / sick / want to stay at home / bump feeling very unsettled & unsually very very uncomfortable and a bit crampy - like a stomach upset but not. lots of braxtons. Occasional something that feels a bit like a proper contraction but very sporadic and could just be bowels Blush but the same surge type feeling that I don't usually get with just an upset tummy.

.... what do you think?

With the other two, I had absolutely no symptoms whatsoever until I realised that i was in established labour.

any back pain?

It sounds like you could be in slow labour! Something you can't quite put your finger on but definitely odd! But be under no mistakes, this could still take a week! Maybe try a few things like gentle walks, surprise your husband and sit with your legs in the air for half hour!!! But defo no curries as you don't want to upset your bowls even more! Ooohhh very exiting! Keep us updated and the best of luck! Remember to relax and try to enjoy it! X x x

Maybe. Bowels often get a good clear out just before! But no way of knowing for sure.

Sounds like it. Put your feet up with a cup of Raspberry Leaf Tea and a big slice of cake Smile

I do have intermittent back ache that can last for ages but definitely comes and goes. I'm not holding my breathe but I've gone from wanting baby to hang on a bit longer so i can enjoy maternity leave to wanting to get on with it because I'm too uncomfortable to do all the things I had planned!

HI there, I am 38+2 and feeling sleepy, bump going to fall out anytime, occassional period pain type cramps, mild backache and mild ache around the pelvic bone area...

Just been to the doctor's and he told me that the baby is engaged :)

I am hoping that the baby will be here soon too! Good luck!

rain1014 · 04/02/2011 16:42

Im getting all of the above and Im only 33 weeks , so either baby is coming extra early or Im just in for a really crap few weeks

PermaShattered · 04/02/2011 22:06

rain101 - ditto. I'm 33+5 too with 4th - I do think it's going to be early but I'm sure I'm not in labour, it's the strength of the BHix. I just know that i will know it when I AM in labour!

rain1014 · 05/02/2011 04:13

Perma - This is my 3rd and I now convinced that the more you have worse it is, not only do you know what your in for , but you also know every little tell tale sign. But in all fairness to me , Ive never had such a rotten pregnancy!

Last night my BH were coming every 15min for 2-3hrs, strong period pains all day then I woke at about 2am with vomiting and a tad bit of a runny tum (tmi)
its just gone 4am and Ive given up on the trying to sleep thing , and the BH are back all be it very mild!!!

PermaShattered · 05/02/2011 10:50

Rain1014 - you're definitely right! But even with my 2nd, the BH were so so painful and close for a whole week before the birth I was convinced was in labour but wasn't! This preg has actually been the easiest - it's the BH that's annoying....

Will be so glad this is over! What do you when you're having the BH? Apparently, going to the loo and drinking loads, and having a walk is supposed to help - and it does, although finding the energy to haul myself out of the chair to do just is another matter.....!

rain1014 · 05/02/2011 14:14

Perma- You and me both!!

I do find going to the loo helps and I drink loads of water all the time. Half of me thinks if I allow myself to have them and dont try and stop them then the baby will come sooner (Dumb I know!!)
