Hi, I got mine at about 22 weeks as well I think, it wasn't on sale (but hadn't seen it on sale at any other time of the year either)and we had done the decorating in the new nursery to be, so had the space to store it.

I was pleased to get a big purchase out of the way, and have also spent time getting used to how all the bits clip on and off (my first baby so am clueless!). Yet to master the folding down... Smile

Buy it whenever you want to and when you've got the money!
22 weeks is fine if you've found a good deal.

If you know what you want though and atill have some time to go, it might be an idea to wait purely to see if any offers or reductions come up....

I think I bought mine around then, but didn't have it delivered til about 35 weeks. As it happened the first one that was delivered was faulty so I had to return it anyway.

I'm 23 weeks and waiting for the carboot sales to start in the spring, so will prob be another 2 months or so before we get ours

humph123 · 03/02/2011 13:09

i'm 22 weeks, I've just bought one as well, apart from that I haven't bought anything yet. I feel I should start buying stuff now otherwise it's all going to be last minute!

I think it's fine.

We bought DD1's pram when I was around 14 weeks pregnant Blush

It was such an amazing deal (£210 reduced to £89 I think, travel system, car seat with all the trimmings) it was an offer I just didn't want to miss out on. We kept it all boxed up in the attic and brought it down when I was about 38 weeks.

Don't forget that around 35 weeks plus, maybe sooner, you might feel big and unconformable and won't want to face the shops to do a big baby shop.

thanks for your replies :0) its a quinny zapp xtra i was thinking of geting purely because of the different ways you can use it like the seat can face mum when small and when they get bigger you can switch it the other way round and also fits well with with a maxi cosi care seat so easy to get out of car and also folds down very small too, the thing is im a childminder and have a zafira and have to have all 7 seats up so space is a issue or lack of space should i say lol, so was thinking if i got the quinny zapp xtra it folds down small and aslo can be easy for me to put up and transfer my car seat onto the frame etc when got mindees,

if i had my own way and loads pf boot space i would have opted for a silvercross 3d or similair as i love how snug they are (thinking of buying one from ebay for 100 and using it for weeeknds and caraving hols, wud u trust ebay for one though? feedback for company sounds gud though :0)

and then i could have the best of both worlds lol,

does any of you have the quinny zapp extra and have any reviews you would like to share that would help me out in making my decision :0)

Why would 22 weeks be too early?!

I would suggest getting all the main purchases out of the way, including decorating your to-be-nursery...as others have said, there is no point waiting until you're too big and tired to hit the shops?! I couldn't think of anything worse, and I am only 28 weeks.

ChessyEvans · 03/02/2011 13:48

Just to add, I'm now 29 weeks and we have everything sorted - partly due to Jan sales and money given to us at Christmas. It's good to know I don't have to go traipsing round the shops (I don't like shopping at the best of times!) and it keeps me calm knowing that we have the essentials.

Just to warn you as well, we ordered a bedroom furniture set from Mamas and Papas in the Jan sale and it won't be delivered until the end of March... cutting it fine!!
