Hi all,

Freaked out a bit last night as when I went to the loo, found small flecks of blood after I wiped. Being the worry-wart that I am, this convinced me that things could be going pear shaped.

Thankfully, since then baby has done some kicking. But I just want to brace myself in case this is a common occurrence. Has anyone else had spotting around this stage?

Yes , I did, only very small amount but was quite red blood and no pain. Like you, lots of baby movements but was seen by ANC midwifes who did usual checks...position of placenta from 20 week scan, baby monitor & checked cervix.
They seemed to think it isn't uncommon in pregnancy, Settled down the following day and now 39+3 ( and counting!!)
I'd definitely give them a call, just for the peace of mind it's worth it.

Thanks mamacorner. Just spoken to the community midwife and she said that it isn't anything to worry about, but if it happens again, no matter how little, I need to go in and get checked out. She said that if the baby is active things sound like they're ok.

I had a tiny amount of spotting at the weekend (27+ weeks). Went to hospital to get it checked (felt like a bit of a fraud doing that as it was really hardly anything, but they were lovely and insisted when I phoned that I come in). I had the same checks as mamacorner, and a swap taken for infection - all fine, so I think it was just one of those things with me. Do keep an eye on it though, nobody seemed to mind taking the time to check me over.

Thanks Grumpyfish. The midwife I spoke to was quite insistent that I didn't need to go in. I guess they know best Confused. I'm now a bit scared every time I go to the loo in case it happens again.
