Clear Blue Fertility Monitor

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty new to this so excuse the lack of acronyms!!

So my husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 6 months and no luck. We are desperate for a little one . Recently a friend recommended the Clear Blue Fertility Monitor to me, she got pregnant in the first month of using the machine so it came highly recommended!!!

I'm on day 8 of using it and at the moment still on low fertility, I'm trying not to get my hopes up but am getting excited at when it shows peak fertility and we can make our little baby. However, obviously this is only one person who has been successful with it. I wondered if anyone has been successful with it or unsuccessful?

It was also really attractive due to the fact that my husband works away every monday to thursday so we only have a few days each week to try and conceive.

Any stories/advice that anyone could give, I would really appreciate it.

Sorry I have gone on a bit!!

Thanks you

MrsK xxx

I also got preggers first time we tried while using it - well actually I had been using it for about four months after I came off the pill but before we were trying. I wanted to track my cycle post-pill to see what it was doing (was worried after reading interweb that could take months for your cycle to re-establish itself and wanted to be sorted before we started trying), but during this time we purposefully only did the deed on low-fertility times as I didn't want to fall pregnant then (though of course wouldn't have been end of world!).

We decided to start trying from December cycle - I think that month I got two or three high days and two peak days (Christmas Day and Boxing Day!). We did did 'it' on all of these days, and I think twice a day on the peak days (!). I got a BFP the day of my missed period.

7+3 now, hoping it sticks :-)

Good luck!

Buy on e bay or amazon

I paid under £50 for a second hand one (she fell preg on 3 rd cycle) and I got a full pack plus some spares!! For that too.

I bought subsequent packs from amazon for £12 including postage. Need to put them on ebay as never used them :-)

Got pregnant twice with the monitor, both time in the second month of using it. I noticed that I did not get pregnant while having sex on peak days, but high fertility days. It's probably because when you peak you only have a small window and if you have to go to work etc, you might miss it. I have 31-32 day cycles, but the monitor told me I was ovulating at different times in the month. It explains why I did not get pregnant for eight months before using the monitor.

I've had 3 BFPs out of my CBFM so I swear by it. The first two both happened in second month of trying, but unfortunately both ended in MC. It took another year for the third BFP, and that happened one month before we were scheduled for IVF. I'm now 7 weeks, and praying it sticks. In the first two BFPs, we did the deed on highs and both peaks; with the third, we only managed the two peaks (so I'm guessing its probably a boy). There is a CBFM support group in the conception forum, with a very supportive crowd all ttc using the CBFM.

I got pregnant both months of using it; first month was a a chemical pregnancy, the next one has stuck 9 weeks so far (and fingers crossed); theres an element of the monitor getting used to you and recognising when you are truly at high fertility (peak always correct though) and shows high for lot longer than you are to start with so i never really placed much reliance on it; worked on the basis that we made love every other day from about day 7 until the peak then several times a day during peak. hope it works for you x

I got pregnant first week of using mine - we planned to just basically have lots of sex but using the monitor it turned out I only ovulated on day 24 of my cycle - def would have given up by then as we started on day six!

Anyway worked first time - eek x

We used ours for 3 months. Something went a bit funny on month 3 - possibly a very early mc. We didn't use it for month 4, but I had learnt my cycle from it - DD is now 5 months. Definitely recommend it.

Thanks for the advice!!! I've had my peak day and done the deed on that day and some of the high days so who knows....
