toothache

I'm 27 weeks and woke up this morning with a sore wisdom tooth.

The gums around it have been a bit swollen all day but I've only really remembered its hurting when I've eaten - as the tooth and gum really hurts then. Even the tooth hurts - like maybe its got a whole in it - although I don't think it actually can do, as it was fine yesterday and I was checked 6 months ago.

Have got a dentist appointment next week, but am going away tomorrow for a few days.

Normally i would not worry about it and hope that it might pass.

Is it the sort of thing that does pass though (never, luckily, had tooth problems before) - or could it be problematic/ dangerous to the baby?

the pain itself won;t be dangerous to the baby. there might be a limit on what they can do for you re anasthesia if you need treatment.I have a toothache myself at the mo and am seeing dentist on wed so I'll come back and tell you what happens. In the meantime, I put a bit of my DS teething gel on it last night and that helped - I assume if its safe for babies it'll be ok for pregnant people!

Having real problems with my wisdom teeth atm. two of them are really painfull, to the point where its just making me miserable all day.....obv cant take any pain killers that actually work ( am 33 weeks pg ) but i have found tht the only things tht gave me a little relief were as trixie says, some bonjela teething gel, acompanied by a bag of frozen peas to the face :)

I am also pregnant. My dentist advised to rinse the area with as hot and as salty water as you can manage It relieves the pain and the salt naturally prevents infection. I have found it really helps. HTH
