Anyone m/c their first?

Did anyone m/c their first and go on to get successfully pregnant again and did it take you ages? I got pregnant straight away last year but m/c'd early at 7wks. I am now very concerned that I am in to cycle 9 and still nothing...but perhaps I'm just panicking. I was hoping for some inspiring stories!

I got pg very quickly with first and the m/c at 10wks. It then took another 13mths to get pg with dd1 and then pg again when dd was six months. Two healthy girls since m/c.

I was so obsessed with getting pg that I think that was the problem. We booked in to the fertility clinic and a week before the appt I had a bfp. I think making the appt for the fertility clinic took the pressure off and I relaxed a bit Smile.

I mced at about week 6/7 with my first pg - managed to conceive first month of trying Wink . This time, it happened 3rd month and am now 37 weeks. I spent the whole first tri expecting something to go wrong again but fingers crossed so far so good.

brokeoven · 31/01/2011 17:52

yes me too.

eventually went on to have ds.

Its been 14 months since my last mc of trying now though. I have asked to be referred to Liverpool womens hospital as i am worried and anxious.

I got pregnant while on the pill, but mc at 9 weeks. It then took almost 2 years to conceive our daughter. We started TTC DC#2 in November, anticipating another long haul....I got a BFP November 29th, so far everything is ok.

I know it's hard, but try and relax. 9 months is a very normal time frame. If nothing happens in the next few months then make an appointment to see your GP. Best wishes! Smile

yes at 21 weeks - then again at 7 weeks then at 9 weeks. Then had 3 kids Smile (had a 5 week mc in between 1st and 2nd) So have been pregnant 7 times in the past 5-6 years.

OnEdge · 31/01/2011 18:28

Just keep trying, I was a bit obsessed and I used to insist we had sex every other day from around day 3 of my period Blush right up until next period WITHOUT FAIL.
I used to insert a mooncup immediately following withdrawal so that no sperm came out. There was always sperm in there ready to receive the egg (sorry its a bit grim to read)

Sometimes it was a real chore, neither of us felt like it, but it seemed to work.

In the early days, i thought we had no chance - now we are up to our eye balls in nappies and snot Grin

I m/c at 13 weeks on the 18th July 2010 the first time I was pregnant. Me & OH went away for two weeks to Spain in October to relax and try to get back on track and it must have done some good as I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and due on the 18th July 2011 Smile.

Nell799 · 31/01/2011 19:13

I just had my first mc at around 9 weeks . We got pg straight away on our first try following a vr . It's been 5 days since I stopped bleeding and im panicing about time scales already . Already had the ovulation strips out .

Janoschi · 31/01/2011 19:14

I m/c my first at 9 weeks last March. And got pregnant again early September. My sister also m/c her first and it took her about 9 or 10 cycles before she got pregnant again. Same for my cousin. We're all having (so far) healthy babies second time around so please don't stress.

One thing to check is your iron level, and to eat well and take exercise. Basically, relax and get yourself as healthy as you can in the interim.

Having a m/c is horribly traumatic and you can feel so empty afterwards that all you want is to be pregnant again. You're obviously not infertile because you conceived the first time, so try to avoid stressing about it. It'll happen. By the way, have you tried an ovulation calender? I used this one and it worked well for me.

Good luck!

M/c at 7 weeks first time, ds born 4 years later, dd 3 years after that, m/c again 2 years after that. We weren't trying any of these times though, all happy accidents so can't really help with the 'how long it takes' bit.

SeaShellsDreamingOfSummer · 31/01/2011 19:21

Mc, had Ds, mc, had dd :)

Mc are horrible, but it doesn't immediately follow that you will have further problems. I hope things get better for you, it is not an easy journey becoming or being a parent-luckily there is Mn Grin

CountBapula · 31/01/2011 19:26

Yup, m/c at 5 weeks then got pg again the following month with no period in between. The docs were a bit Hmm but all went well and DS is now 4 months old.

We used the fertility awareness method (waking temperatures etc) so I knew something was up before I m/c'd because my temp suddenly dropped.

hope it happens for you soon.

Rozeeglow · 31/01/2011 19:38

I do feel for you. I m/c my first at 9 weeks while on holiday in Egypt (mixed emotions about that holiday!).

We waited a couple of cycles and got lucky first 'retry'. Strangely we were both a little disappointed as we had expected at least a few months of fun and games Wink but were pleased as well obviously.

I knew this one would be ok (am at nearly 12 weeks now) as I've been so sick and I wasn't ill at all with the first so obviously something was wrong from the word 'go'.

I can only echo everyone else - relax, enjoy yourself and believe it will be fine. I wish you all the best.

owlbooty · 31/01/2011 22:18

There's a whole thread on here (and another in the Conception section) for people who have done or are doing exactly that :)

Pop in and say hello if you feel like it.

lulalullabye · 31/01/2011 22:23

My m/c was on my honeymoon while in San Francisco!! Guess I left more than my heart there hey!! It does feel weird that part of me was left in another country. Smile

tigerbear · 31/01/2011 23:59

Yep, mc at 5 weeks in Sept 2009, then took a year to get pregnant again - I conceived the exact same week in September in 2010 as I had the previous year. DH and I joke that I'm only fertile once a year!
Am now 27 weeks with DD1.

Good luck - it will happen!

joycep · 01/02/2011 10:00

Hi Girls, thank you so much for getting back to me...clearly many of you out there. I think I have just got myself in to a state about how long it seems to be taking - it's all I think about and I can just hear the fertility clock ticking as every month comes and goes, so I really don't help myself!!

Janoschi - thank you for your words of advice, you have hit the nail on the head. I do actually chart which I thought was stressing me out so I stopped but have resumed it as I quite like knowing where I am in my cycle.

Anyway, good luck with all your pregnancies and best of luck to all those still trying!
