I'm planning a valentines present for two girlfriends and really need some inspiration. This probably isn't the right place for this but I can't think what is!

One was born in the mid 60's and one in the mid 70's. I am designing something that will have songs, phrases, memories, fashion trends, favourite foods (or sweets) etc through the decades that were appropriate for them. Some things I have already put down but I need a few more.

Anyone who is interested in helping, could you answer this...

Which decade born:
Baby toys that you adored/remember?
Favourite sweet?
First song/bands you loved or remember your teenage era by?
First fashion trend?
20's sayings?
20's must have things (italian coffee makers? bean bags? etc )?
Cool places you loved to travel to and great bars there?

Thanks so much for the inspiration for anyone who takes part.

I was born in the 70's.
Toys: Girls world - life size head of a doll you could make up, cut do her hair.
Tiny Tears: Baby that pisses itself and cries. What on earth did I want one of those for???
Fave sweets: Pacers (mint chews), fruit salads, black jacks, quarter of sherbert pips, treats (now M&M peanuts), Wham bars, Dime bars - i think they came out in the 80's and were a big hit.
Songs: Bucks Fizz - Making your mind up (can't remember if thats what it was called but they won the eurovision song contest with it)
Anything by Wham! Then as I got older took quite a liking to Bon Jovi and 'emotional rock' oh and the Top Gun soundtrack was an early teenage memory. (I was not very cool)
Fashion: Ra-ra skirts. White cotton bomber style jacket with faded blue jeans.
20's sayings: Probably regional, but in Wales we used to say 'hanging' for feeling awful (hungover) or if someone was not very good looking - "he's hanging"
20's must haves: I was a student then so 'must haves' were more 'what was affordable'. But I do remember watching 'This Life' in my late 20's and wanting that disposable income and life style. Rachel from 'friends' had THE haircut for part of my 20's. Or Bjork style twisty buns for the alternative studenty days!
Places: Bristol was known for its 'trip hop' scene and cool music (Portishead, Massive Attack, Tricky etc.) Thats what I liked anyway! In London it would be the Blue Note in Hoxton Square.
Ooooo that was fun reminicing! Grin

Gladis are you a lucky man with 2 girlfriends???

Sorry, I was born in the 70s but only 3 weeks out of the 80s so don't think I'll be much help!

Oooo a memory lane mugging! Here's mine...

Which decade born: 1970s
Baby toys that you adored/remember? a wooden dog on wheels - I beieve it was very common and looked a bit like a beagle.
Favourite sweet? cola cubes
First song/bands you loved or remember your teenage era by? Nick Kershaw, The Riddle Blush
First fashion trend? Rara skirts and patent shoes with ankle straps.
20's sayings? Everything was 'cool' or if cute 'dinky'.
20's must have things (italian coffee makers? bean bags? etc )? Futon bed that could become a sofa for those tiny bedsits I ended up renting.
Cool places you loved to travel to and great bars there? San Juan in Puerto Rico - Oliver's was a fantastic bar.
