Hi there, I am now pregnant with my second baby, but am a bit apprehensive about what lies ahead since I had an emergency induction at 36 weeks due to severe preclampsia with my first which was quite horrendous. Will this happen again? will I have a consultancy led prenatal care? would appreciate any thoughts!
Thanks!

Hi

I don't have experience of PE, however, I am high risk for other reasons. I am guessing you will be treated as high risk this time and would be surprised if you were not under consultant care. You should be monitored much more closely and perhaps extra growth scans. You should be vocal if you are not happy with your care.

Good luck.

I had pre eclampsia in my last pregnancy and im sure I was told that if I had anymore children I was more at risk of getting it again sorry im sure thats not what ou wanted to hear but im sure you will receive extra care this time.

I had PE the first time but not the second time. Because of the PE I had consultant led care the second time and had more check ups with the MW, also had the odd nurse appt to check my BP. I kept expecting the PE to start again, like it had the first time but it never did. Good luck, hope you skip it the second time too!
