Wondering if anyone can give me advice on this before I finally go to Dr about it - I am now 16 weeks pregnant with our second baby and since about 6 weeks I have been itching, basically everywhere except for my face, chest, hands and feet. Sometimes its not too bad, but at other times, particularly at night it is really bad and is now getting to the point where the skin, particularly on my forearms, back and shins is getting really sensitive and sore. Obviously I am trying to not itch it but is really hard. Have told the midwives and they don't seem worried about it but they did liver function tests and bile salts along with 12 week routing blood tests (30th Dec 2010). Nothing has come back from them so midwife has said results must be ok.Was really wondering if anyone else had similar and if so,is there anything they have tried that has improved it, or do I just need to see GP. Have been trying E45 cream but to no avail. Many Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

I used eucerin lotion when I was pg but my skin was itchy because it was so dry.

My MW sent me to the hospital to get tested when I had this. Results were clear but the doctor said some women get allergic reactions in pregnancy and they don't know to what.

They prescribed piriton, which made me too drowsey during the day but it was a godsend at night, which is when mine was worse. Luckily after a few weeks it did pass. My legs are scarred though from the amount of digging I did to them.

I would go to your GP and get him/her to prescribe something if they are convined that your tests came back clear.
