Cystitis day 3 shouldn't I be feeling better by now?

Hi I rang gp yesterday and she prescribed antibiotics over the phone and I took in a urine sample - too busy to see me Hmm
So I've been on them for two full days now but ive still got low tummy pains and the awful burning :(
Starting to worry it's a kidney infection now... Have my 12 scan on Tuesday.
Any advice?

Even if it is a kidney infection only antibiotics can be prescribed can't they?
Tia

I would have thought you should be feeling noticeably better by now. I had a couple of bouts of cystitis when I was pregnant with DS, and the second time I ended up in hospital on intravenous antibiotics due to a kidney infection. Can't miss the kidney infection symptoms though - excruciating lower back pain as if you've been punched. Might be worth a trip back to the GPs for alternative antibiotics? And keep drinking loads of water!

It's going to sound daft, but get a hot water bottle or one of those microwaveable heat pads and put it on the soles of your feet. I don't know why or how it works, but it takes away that 'desperate' feeling almost immediately. Make sure you keep your feet really warm until you're feeling better.

Oh, and I'm really sorry. It's one of the worst feelings in the world isn't it? Take care!

I really feel your pain - I have been practicing pelvic floor muscles by trying to stop peeing mid flow but that makes cystitis worse as it means the acid travels back up just as a tip as I thought I was doing the right thing. Drink more water than feels humanly possible and hope you feel better soon x

Ah thanks for the responses! :) I've got a hold water bottle between my legs (tmi) sorry.
Drinking lots :(
Do you think I should try and see a doctor?

Yes!!! See a doctor. Cry. Make them give you the strongest stuff they've got (that you're allowed in pregnancy)

And please, try that hot water bottle on the soles of your feet for a few minutes. I know it sounds crazy (I thought my mate had gone mad when she told me to do it) but it works!!
