Bleeding at 11 weeks

Hi all,
A little advice and comforting pats on the shoulder please!
I'm 11 weeks gone with my 2nd and I had a small bleed with no pain yesterday tea time, rang nhs direct and the out of hours service and they said sit tight for a while and see what happens. Went to bed and all was fine throughout the night but when I got up there was fresh blood but again no pain. It's not a huge amount of blood, a bit like the start of my period but nonetheless I'm a bit worried. I'm going to either call the docs/mw at 9 or the out of hours service if it gets worse before then.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi hk,

This must be very worrying for but i do know several people who have had bleeds and gone on to have healthy pg's and babies.

Hopefullly a scan will put your mind at rest.

Have everything crossed for you.

I am going through exactly the same thing at exactly the same stage. Called the epu, but having had a scan with heartbeat at 8 + 4 they aren't bothered at all. It has now stopped temporarily. I bled the whole way through the first trimester with my 1st and he is fine (bright red and lots of it).

Keep us posted. I know that heart sinking feeling when you wipe and there's blood...

Hi, I'm now 13+5 and have had several bleeds so far but scans have shown that the foetus is ok. It's v scary when it happens. When I had my first bleed I went to my GP (the receptionist was brilliant and got me an appt v quickly when I explained) who referred me to the early pregnancy unit and I was able to have a scan the next day so I'd try and see your GP today if you can. Oh, and mine wrote 'threatened miscarriage' on my referral letter which really worried me but appparently that's what they always put if you've had a bleed. Take care and I hope you get a scan soon

Thank you everyone. Feel a bit better now!
Partridge and reallygrumpy, I hope everything goes ok for you, it is heart stopping when you go to the loo.
I will ring the docs at 9 when they open and take it from there. The fact that I'm not in any pain is strangely giving me some comfort so I've got everything crossed (literally!)

I had some light bleeding last week (mid-week 12) and when I called the midwife she said I only needed to take it further if it was bright red and increased or if I felt pain. I had a routine scan on Monday and everything was absolutely fine. Hope everything is ok for you!

I have spoken to my doctor and they've brought the scan forward to tomorrow instead of next thurs so I'll know more after that.

Thanks all for your good wishes and concern Smile

Hope your scan will be ok - best wishes

Phew!
Just got back from the scan and all is well thank goodness. Strong heartbeat and jumping round like a jellybean. They couldn't find a cause for the bleeding so out was probably just one of those things. What a relief!
T hankyou for your best wishes
