I'vejust found out I'm pregnant and have now got a cold - v.boring! When I sneeze or cough I sometimes get a sharp pain in my lower abdomin to my right hand side.... is it anything to worry about and will it effect the baby especially in these early stages?
can anyone help?

Won't effect your baby in any way, just stay away from all medications with the exception of paracetamol. The pain you are experiencing is probably due to the effect of the relaxin hormone which helps your body accommodate a pregnancy by relaxing ligaments, including those around your pelvis. You will probably feel these kinds of pain from time to time throughout your pregnancy as everything stretches and grows. If you are still worried, ring your GP.

Thank you bluefootedpenguin, really helps to have another opinion - it's my first pregnancy and just so excited, nervous and worried!! If only the 12 wks would go more quickly! Cold on the mend today, so hope to feel a bit more upbeat soon
