As a one off, no it is not that bad

MrsRhettButler · 26/01/2011 21:01

no its fine

trixie123 · 26/01/2011 21:02

you're fine, so is baby. Prolonged exposure to excessive alcohol may lead to some problems but one episode of two beers won't do a thing. Lots of people (including me) get completely hammered in the weeks before they KNOW they are pregnant with no ill effects on the child at all. Relax.. Hope you have a better day tomorrow

Funny that...I am having a glass of bear with my dinner at the mo and am 27 weeks. Don't worry...just try not to have any more alcohol this week- your quota is up..Wink

I am sure baby is FINE. You would need to consume a lot more alcohol than 2 beers to do any lasting damage.

Relax, it's fine. Other cultures are more relaxed about alcohol IME. Went on holiday to Italy when I was pg with DD a few years back and no one batted an eyelid there when I had a glass of wine with dinner. I think they'd have thought me odd if I hadn't!

My policy in both pregnancies (currently 10 wks with DC2) has been to have a "champagne pregnancy". In other words, no alcohol unless it's champagne. The idea being that champagne is a rare luxury, not something that's readily available all the time, so the temptation is less.

That said, I'm now really craving a cold beer...

Hope you have a better day tomorrow x

mum295 - I had a champagne pregnancy too! And very much enjoyed it when the opportunity arose...

Honestly, you need to drink a LOT LOT more than two beers REGULARLY to damage a baby! You'll be completely and utterly fine :)
